I agree also . I mentioned it earlier we also have the pieces to trade with TB or Fla for Mackinnon
- VANTEL

Would NJ be a better partner? Canucks move Edler and Schneider for Larsson and 9th overall. Then flip 9th and 2nd to Nsh for Barkov)
Edit: meant to say 2nd 1st(our first rounder)

And honestly I think this is the perfect scenerio you look at and see coaching as a huge part of the problem. Why Bowness/AV split them up is beyond me
- Bieksa#3

Yeah, I have to agree here.

They did work well together. Whether they would have been as good this season as they were the previous is impossible to know, but why would they not put them back together for the sake of finding a balance in the D corps is beyond me.

Once Garrison adjusted to the right side, he should have been put back with Edler, and Bieksa and Hamhuis should have been put together.

No real hard on but these two have been our best. As for Hamhuis I think he has continued to progress year after year. You can't ask more of a player. I have to agree with Vantel though if the trade is equal they should be available.

He took a step back this season.

I've seen some speculation that he wasn't 100% healthy for the entire season.

Deal Edler for a young center (Brayden Schenn), then trade Kesler to Dallas for Loui Eriksson. Better coaches and a better PP with Eriksson.

Burrows and Edler package. Best bang for your buck. I love both these guys but this would shake it up and bring you quality return. Bring on the hate.
- thundachunk

no hate but I wouldn't trade burrows. one of the few guys that goes to the wall for this team.

I'm torn over bieksa. hockey skills limited and prone to huge gaffs in the defensive zone but he is the heart of this team. maybe if you are looking for a shakeup it's bieksa that needs to go.

I do believe KB has trade value.

after the WHC you have to put eriksson with the twins. I think schenn with burrows would make a great pairing.
saying that, schenn is not being traded from philly. they won't break up the brothers.

Oh don't get me wrong Burrows is all heart on this team because of this his trade value is huge. I think KB3 will get great return as well.

I think Schenn is more plausible than Simmonds believe it or not.

nor does Dallas trade a 26 year old kid that's scored north of 70 points the last 3 full seasons, who is signed to a good contract long term, for Edler.

As menvtioned earlier its Edler, a 2nd and a prospect. That's a very nice package

Changes the team and dynamic doesn't hurt us. I don't like to see Kesler go and would take him over Eriksson every time.

I think what burrows has done with the twins in the nhl trumps what ericksson did in a few games against mainly non NHLers... Against Canada they didn't look that good and the fins and Swiss had 2 nhl players each.

Why would Dallas want to trade Eriksson?

And although the twins looked good paired up with him on the PP, there is no guarantee they will click when they are back on the smaller ice surface with significantly more contact. Especially in the playoffs - they were getting pushed around like crazy.

Per some in the media, rumour has it they are shopping him. No idea why. I would imagine they'd be looking for a C in return though.

Maybe on the PP. But I'd keep Burr with them at ES, and put Eriksson with Kesler to spread out the talent/scoring.

Also, if you trade Edler for Schenn, who do you trade for Eriksson.

Kesler won't be traded this off season. I'll put money on it.

So Edler is really the only piece that will likely get a top 6 forward.

Philly won't be trading him for Edler. They wouldn't trade for Edler at all. They need to shed salary. Not pick up more.

Schneider. Assuming we keep Lu of course. I'm not really buying the "trade both goalies" rumours.

I get what you're saying but they also need a D just like Edler and they usually don't come on ELCs. If a deal was there I think they'd make the trade for Edler and look to shed salary elsewhere.

They already have $10M to shed. They're not going to make it $15M. Especially at the expense of a top young, ELC kid. Not a chance. If that's something they were going to look at, they'd entertain something around Hartnell. But that's about it.

Detroit is the team we were supposed to be modeled after. Personally I think they play an attractive game (so does CHI btw) and wouldn't mind them advancing as far as possible. However highly unlikely, DET-PIT Round 3 would be an exciting final to watch.
