Who knows, that might be a trade Gillis and Yzerman need to agree in principal beforehand on the assumption that MacKinnon is still available at #3. But with Bishop and Lindback now signed, wouldn't they be more interested in using that #3 to sign Drouin as a future winger on the Stamkos line?

Their goaltending sucked last year . If they could upgrade to Schneider and get Edler with another solid winger like Higgins ,they would instantly be a top contender

Not sure if they'd be a top contender but certainly would be in the playoff picture. Even with Edler I think they need another solid defensive defenseman.

Was anyone else impressed with Team Switzerland at the IIHF tourney? That country has been making great strides in their world play . I think Gillis should send a couple of scouts to find some gems.

If Switzerland has arrived and we can get some other snow countries like Austria, Germany, or Norway into the fold it can only improve the sport.

I like him, physical player, plays in all situations, leader on his team and scored 40 goals the last two seasons. He's been compared to Dustin Brown, but probably not as good of a hitter.

I believe he's already met with ownership last week so assuming that ownership has given Gillis the green light to continue, the next logical step in the process would be to evaluate the coaching staff and I'm guessing that Gillis already has a pretty good evaluation in his mind after watching all the games this year.

If this year had been a full season than I think it could have happened earlier. Gillis is right on that regard, it was a messed up season.
