If they trade Miller this summer I would sign Mike Smith.

I guess we could agree to disagree, what a disaster this team has become it's very sad and other players around the NHL can see it. Other GM's can see it as well and won't deal with Darcy.

Seems to me Darcy has moved a number of guys out so I don't agree that other GMs won't deal with him.

You're taking the whole thing out of context and putting your own spin on it. Where did he say Vanek was worth 64M? As far as McCornick, it was more about Darcy's grudge match. Same for McNabb.

I never said that Homer felt Vanek was worth 64M. He claims that Pegula offered Vanek 8 years 64M and Vanek scoffed at the offer as if to say hes worth more, the team sucks and hes on the same level as people that make $8M or more per year.

If the Rangers had an offer in place for McCormick, and the guy they were offering was from the AHL, not in the NHL, how is that a piece that was going to help this team? Why didnt the Rangers claim him off waivers? That had nothing to do with a grudge between Darcy and McCormick.

As far as McNabb goes, the kid wasnt ready for the NHL. He still isnt ready. He looked good when he was first called up for a few games, but he was less than stellar in his second call up a season ago.

Why didnt these stories about Darcy come out before? Like... say... when they happened? Because these are personal attacks coming from someone who is bitter about being dismissed from his job.

I know it's just one game but I've been saying this all along, Mackinnon>Jones. He just has that it factor that hasn't been present in the last few draft classes. It may sound ridiculous to some of you but we really should but I hope our brainless GM does one good deed and puts us in a position to draft this guy. Really though I'd be down to give up both Vanek and Hodgson to make it happen. He has that ability to take over a game that we desperately need (not like Crosby, but he's got game).

I don't think he scoffed at the offer because of the dollars. I think it has more so to do with the direction the team is heading. He knows he can get that same contract on the open market on a better team in a nicer city (not hating on Buffalo just trying to see it from Vanek's point of view).

He scoffed because he thinks hes better than this team, not true. Roy, Pommer, even Connolly have all performed better than him over the past 6 years.

Whatever team pays him $8M per or more will regret it 2 seasons into the deal.

I'll tell you one thing, hes not getting $8M a season from any team is remotely close to winning the cup.
