Is Bolland good for anything but dumb penalties these days?

Bolland doing his Carcillo impersonation.

This team has checked out mentally.

Well . . . let me say this . . . Toews is a no show so far this year. Make whatever excuses you want, he's been a nothing in the 2013 playoffs. Talking heads making mention of Babcock getting Zetterberg out against 19 as much as possible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Toews has both height and weight on Zetterberg. Toews listed at 6'2", 208 lbs. Zetts 5'11", 197lbs. So 3" (and reach) and at least 10 lbs.

So really, WTF is up with Toews?

Ooops, while I was drafting this, #2 and #4 are asleep at the switch again. 2 goal lead, game over. Series is going at least 6 games. Q is a phucking moron, benches the fastest forward we have and keeps trotting out #2 and #4 thinking they are the answer. Guess not, huh?

Guess Q misjudged this Detroit crew. Team with a lot of pride. They've skated Chicago right off the ice. And Q has been outcoached once again.

Toews has been very disappointing. Not saying he has played bad, but he hasn't been the difference maker you expect your top players to be. Bolland with yet another dumb penalty.

He's a bottom 6 grinder. He'll be dealt in the off season I think.

This last one was completely idiotic.

Detroit is the better team today. This is going to be a very long series.

Not if the Hawks have another effort like this.

Bolland I hate you. All he had to do was lay down holding his head. No elbowing call for wings, another retaliation call on undisciplined hawks.

Crow is being hung out to dry. No support. A one man show! Send in the CPD and file a missing team report.

Almost sucked it up and bought tickets to this. Now I'm glad I saved my money. Beer at home is much cheaper.

I hope so. He's just not the player he used to be. Maybe it's the constant history of injuries, but it's time to move him if they can.

They're in the building...but in the locker room still reading about how 'great they were' in Game 1...when they were LUCKY AS PHUCK.

The Hawks won't play this bad in every game, but they won't sustain great play in every game either.

Detroit will NOT win this in 5 games, but they could easily win it in 6 or 7. This series has 7 games written all over it. Detroit has responded brilliantly in this game after being dismantled in game 1.

This team's weakness (being overly soft, having little net presence) is being exposed today.

The Hawks just allowed the outcome of this series to become a toss-up. Another effort like today and this series will be over in 5 or 6 games, just not in the favor that most people seem to think. This was an absolutely inexcusable, uninspired performance on your own home ice. It's alarming to me that our head coach recognized the lack of intensity this team had early in the first series yet it continues to be a problem. How a team that has been knocked out in the first round two years in a row can have a lack of intensity this bad is beyond me.

Need to regroup on the road - they've played better on the road this year than at home - need to win one in Detroit.

Can't expect less than a 6 game series, especially in the 2nd and later rounds.

All the pressure in the 3 rd period - even with the score against them - is on Crawford.

Not that surprising, you give Babcock two days to make adjustments and he will make you pay. #25 better be in the lineup game 3.
- prd797

Yes. And for everyone that thinks Q is so great, I have one thing to note: Powerplay.

Yes, mr genius Q sure knows it all.

And #2 standing watching again on the PK.
If you ask me, C2 the only Hawk that showed up today. No help whatsoever from the guys in front of him. Easy game for Howard.

Oh yeah, almost forgot -- for all the Bolland lovers out there, another smart penalty to take with your club already down 3-1. Real difference maker. Sure glad I didn't spend the coin to go see this garbage in person.

Didn't I hear somewhere that they are intending to come home between games? Maybe not such a good idea. These boys get lazy with home-cookin.

I knew the idea of moving him to L2-C was a laugh and it was proven to be fail. Bolland is a third line grinder, PK guy, defensive player who is often injured and making big bucks.

He provides value, but is very replaceable on this team, for a lot less the cost. A smart management team will move him in the off season.

You'd think this team would make a push at the start of the third with as bad as they've played, yet for 12 minutes it more of the same of what we say in the first two periods.

you know its a rough game when you're excited that Oduya is on the ice.

He, Kruger, Bickell & Frolik seem to be the only ones interested in the game.

Toews better take some damn responsibility after this game. This is HIS team and he is one of many who sleepwalked for 60 minutes.

No excuses - this is the PLAYOFFS for phucks sake.

Howard's probably happy he stashed a cigar and the morning paper in his goalie equipment. Not much going on in his end of the ice today...

Me too, I think most would have trouble being critical of him as he consistently brings it every night.

This playoffs and this game especially, he doesn't seem all there
