Absolutely! Neal's contract is fantastic. I know he's a little one dimensional, but he is one of my favorite Pens. I'd only be okay with trading him if we basically robbed the other GM.

Not saying you are doing this, but I love the "one dimensional" label that gets thrown around at very good players that someone doesn't like.

As if firing rockets past the goalie was a bad dimension to have.

Not everyone can be an all around player at their position like Crosby or Chris Pronger. Paul Coffey was one dimensional and he put up 1500 points in the NHL. Brett Hull was one dimensional and he scored 741 goals.

Unbelievable.

Not even a gameday blog to kill my lunch break. Hell, not even a Ottawa GD blog yet. What is going on?!?!?!

as much as it pains me to type it, trade malkin in the off season. ten million dollar/yr with a 60 million $ cap is not realistic. you would have money to sign all the other folks you wanted to keep.

He's signed for $8.7 next season, and the cap won't stay at $60 million for long. Adding more money maker outdoor games, things like the Isles moving to Brooklyn (and becoming relevant again), and maybe if Phoenix moves to a stronger market, all of these things will boost revenue and the salary cap.

Good reads! I like Fleurys reaction to who he wants to be the mustache guy. haha

Any other articles? I already read Pirates and Penguin previews on other site...

I couldn't disagree more. Cap will rise again. It's such a tremendous advantage to have the two best centers in the world on your team. You don't trade that away.

I don't think you have any clue on what it would take to resign him ... it won't be 10 million and the cap will be going up after next year. You don't let a generational talent like Malkin walk.

I don't think we see a time when Geno says give me more than Sid. They seem to be very happy with 9 mil a year and I think they really enjoy being on the same team. Not sure if they hang out outside of work but they both take a lot of pressure off of each other. Who are you going to try and match up against? It's a nightmare.

If he's a generational talent, what is Crosby? "Very good?"
