Nygren has agreed to play in the AHL. Collberg will be at the Habs camp, but will bolt back to Sweden if he doesn't make the team.

He was 3rd in the league for turnovers this year. That also counts.

If the Habs had sucked as expected, he probably would have fetched a 1st and a decent prospect at the deadline, even though he was starting to get exhausted. No chance in hell they can get that now, before a 82-games season.

If he doesn't warm the bench in the SEL it's all good. Should help that there won't be lock-outed NHLers in that league next season.

Also, he'll get to play at the World Juniors again.

I think you are stuck with him for another year.

BTW....this is a legit question. The original buyout clause I believe was for one buyout in each of the next two years, I believe. They then allowed it to be used in special cases like the Gomez deal....but....did that take this years buyout away???

I'm almost surprised that Nygren accepted to play in the AHL. I would actually have expected the contrary, Nygren NHL or SEL and Collberg NHL or AHL.

wish EA would import its Hall of Fame + Records systems in the NHL franchise.

I also wish EA managed to not screw the points system so that a player that played 1000 games and got 500 points with my team wouldn't retire with 673 games and 180 points
