It doesn't explain the loss.

But after that MacLean presser it seems like they were not even thinking about winning the series, they wanted to "beat the senators". And they failed miserably.

i disagree. i think they just didn't match up well with Ottawa. combine Anderson's play w/injuries, and that's that.
