Russ Brandon:
“It is with great pleasure to name Doug Whaley to the position of General Manager today. Doug has been involved in every level of player personnel throughout his career and he will lead our efforts in reestablishing a winning tradition for this organization and our great fans."

Bills have no tradition of winning. In Fact the only history the Bills have is losing more than they win..... and making poor decisions.

yeah except for that whole era where all they did was win

So lets pretend NYI is the destination for miller. what realistically would be in a trade?

They will probably try to include nino on any trades they make so count him in.

Buffalo will probably want a ~24-28 year old roster player since they will really be lacking assuming they trade vanek too.

Given the theme and darcy always says he wants picks because picks are how you build your team.

So i would say Nino, Colin McDonald, 1st round pick is the framework and they go back and forth

In a statistics they call that an outlier. It would take the Bills at least 10 years of 10 win seasons just to be a historical .500 team

Leafs locker clean-out day..

So as Sabre fans what are we going to call that last game they played ?

I'm going for "Breakdown in Beantown" or "Meltdown in Beantown". Leaf fans will downplay it but it was pretty epic...

Idea's ???

He was a Mogilny fan, not really a Sabres fan. He idolized Owen Nolan as well, and liked the Sharks. But...he really grew up as a Pens fan.

Another reason to not want him playing on your team.

Talk about "Nathan Gerbe style underdog/overcome long odds to succeed" stories!

- Garth

Yeah.

Let me know when Gerbe succeeds at something other than spinning his wheels.

Grigo, one more year closer to being an epic bust. In part to the unearned praise heaped upon him by a certain blogger with no real hockey sense.

Bustarenko?
Grigo-Daigle?

25 games 1 goal.

he was the 12th pick... and it's only been one year. If Ryan Strome can have this much time to develop it's only fair to give Grigorenko the same slack.

He's right. The Super Bowl years were the exception to the rule, and they didn't even win any of those. The only "tradition" the Bills have is one of mediocrity, and even that might be generous.

The Sabres are only slightly better, though that might have a lot to do with the fact that there are more playoff positions available in the NHL.
