In all seriousness, if Ovechkin were to get traded to Buffalo, he'd probably bolt to the KHL the first chance he got. This city isn't anywhere near high profile enough for him. - buffalofan19
He's going to leave like 80 million on the table?
wut. He has a NTC/NMC anyway. |

Starting July 1 2014 he has a NTC that kicks in that allows him to list up to 10 teams each year he will not accept a trade to and can modify said list in September of every following year.

Is he better than Holtby? Probably, but given their comparative age, and Miller's success at Holtby's age, I see a 1 year (slight) upgrade at the expense of one of our only good prospects?
We don't need Miller. It would be better suited to spend that cap space somewhere else. Holtby's splits are better. - Blackstrom2
As an outsider to your world (Caps), I'd stick with Holtby. Kid's a good goalie.
And as you said, how much of an upgrade is Miller really, and at the expense of a top prospect? I wouldn't do it, if I were McPhee. I'd stick with Holtby.
But, I'm a Sabres fan, so Kuznetsov and/or Wilson it is.

(frank) off. - Blackstrom2
i wouldn't understand the caps picking up miller.. it would cost too much for a slight upgrade in the short term and probably not better in the long term |

Is there a reason why you left out, "KNOWN CLAUSES" ?
He cannot be traded without his permission right now. |

It will be very hard to get Samuelsson out of PHX. If you look at their prospects. They have little in the forward ranks. 4 of the top 5 are D prospects, which we could use. |

He was a Mogilny fan, not really a Sabres fan. He idolized Owen Nolan as well, and liked the Sharks. But...he really grew up as a Pens fan. |

Ovechkin, who will turn 27 in September, has nine years and 85.85 million remaining on the 13-year extension he signed with the Capitals in 2008. Ovechkin carries a cap hit slightly over 9.5 million and has a no-trade clause that kicks in July 1, 2014.

Ovi has a no-trade clause that kicks in on July 1, 2014. Under the clause, he's allowed to name up to 10 teams he's willing to be traded to and can modify it the following September of every year.

Again, he cannot be traded right now without his permission.
He won't be though. And more importantly, if he does, he is not certainly not going to leave that money on the table. |

WGR said Phoenix and the Caps are teams in on Miller.
I would LOVE Gibson coming back for Miller. What would some trade scenarios look like? - Beezer33
I am going with my unsubstantiated hunch that Miller goes to NYI. |

Probably right.
I think NYI feel they have scoring, it's the back end that is/was their problem. They're in NY (or close enough to it) which is the next best thing being married to an "actress" as LA. |

Bills have no tradition of winning. In Fact the only history the Bills have is losing more than they win..... and making poor decisions. |
