Interesting... I am listening to the 1hr replay of the game now, and Bourque was saying that Gryba was woosey and "bouncing off the walls" going down the tunnel. Basically saying a concussion-type thing.

Yeah, the way he went down didn't look like a shoulder injury, it looked more like a woosy type thing. Maybe not a full-blown concussion that will sideline him, but definitely something not right with his head. Then again, could be both.

Also, just wanted to point this out from the blog:

"Coach Bylsma doesn’t like to start a goalie in more than three straight games, so it will be interesting to see which tender gets the nod for Friday."

Didn't MAF very recently have a stretch of 4 straight starts?

That might be true during the regular season, but I don't see how that applies in any way to the playoffs.

Before Game #1 I thought that if Vokoun had an off night, Fleury would be right back in there, but with every game Vokoun wins/looks good, I think his rope gets longer and longer. If the Pens win this series in like 4 or 5 games, I think Vokoun is the guy going the rest of the way.

Cooke has been one of the Penguins most consistent forwards.

So you are displeased with the current production and chemistry of the team? Or you want to tinker with what's working? Or...I'm not really sure what you're going for here. It's not NHL 13; sometimes the lines, for whatever reason, work better with mismatched parts. To me, if you just won a playoff game 4-1, and there's no injury, stick with what worked.

I like Morrow, but I would like Cooke to get more ice than Morrow.

You really don't see the guy crashing the net? It seems to me like that's all he does. Every once and a while he has a pretty intense battle along the boards with 1 if not 2 guys. I have been pleased with his play in the playoffs. Normally if there is a shot on net the first guy that's always coming right behind that shot is Iggy.
- nbartley9

I am pleased by his play on the PP, not so much 5 on 5. He's been OK, not a liability. I love his shot just as much as Nealer's. He's definitely helped but in a different way than I was expecting.

I don't mean to say the 3rd line gets more minutes than the 4th line...all I'm saying is Sutter works well with Cooke and Jokinen works well with Morrow, symple as that. It's up to HCDB to decide how many minutes each one gets.

I got ya, to be honest Iggy's whole career he has made a living on chipping in goals in the paint. Then every once in a while just steam rolling right through the goaltender, and the puck pops out on the other side.

His shot power has been the most surprising thing to me about his game.

Please excuse my questioning, not trying to stir up trouble. I confess I haven't been able to watch the Pens as much this year as in the past (refused to get Center Ice). Do those players (Sutter with Cooke, Jokinen with...who?) had a productive track record? Their styles might be more in line with each other, but unless there's a history, it doesn't mean they'll click. To me, whatever happened last game worked, so I would, personally, keep it that way.

Yep, they have played together VERY well since they arrived in Pittsburgh. Morrow and Jokinen have known each other's game since the Dallas' days.

The same can be said about Sutter and Cooke. They just click! Plus, Cooke would get his usual LW position back.

Edit: I see my mistake now

To begin draw an S, for snake. or dragon. Whatever.
Next, we'll draw a more different S.
Close it up real good at the top, for his head.
Then, using consament V's give him teeth, spineties, and angry eyebrows.
Now you can add smoke, fire, or wings, you know if he's a wing-a-ling dragon.
Now lets put one of those beefy arms on the back of him for good measure. That looks really good, coming out of the back of his neck there.

I think that is more of a regular season thing where playing back to back nights is commonplace, and the travel is worse. It will have been 3 days since the last game on Friday night with no travel, so no issue going back to Vokoun.
