If he was Canadian and spoke plain English he wouldn't even be strange or a nutcase... well except for the dog comment. That was kinda strange.

Are there any good parks in Downingtown?

There's a huge one in the middle of town. It can be a bit urban but it's pretty nice. All the communities on the fringe have parks and they are pretty great. Clean, well taken care of with plenty of courts (tennis and basketball), rinks, baseball fields and all kinds of other stuff including a playground for the kids central to each one. We have a bike path by the river that is just incredibly long and rural.

We have an ordinance that whenever a certain amount of space is devoured by housing a certain amount is set aside for public access and parks so we have lots of parks.

You know I honestly believe he catches so much flak cause of his contract vs play. I think if he played or lived up to it people wouldnt care what he says. But when you are playing average to below average, comments can wear on people.

It's a lot easier when your already bound for the HoF.

Nah, Pronger always had that. I remember when Pronger was a rookie he did an interview in a magazine (remember those) and they asked him if he had any nicknames for people, he said, "Yea, I call Jagr Puff-nuts". not the exact quote, but yea....

That's one of the better hockey articles I have read. The math is totally speculative but still a great read.

Too funny. Dare I ask if he explained why? My imagination is far too vivid. I'm scared I'll go into overload as to reasons this could be a nickname.

I think Ryan Miller is getting just as blasted in Buffalo for the stuff he says. I would rather have Bryz's off the wall, bear in woods comments, then someone on the team saying "he doesnt speak for us".

If I remember correctly he explained that it was during a game and Jagr kept whining to the ref about Pronger interfering, and Pronger said "shut up and play puff-nuts."

Found it, exact quote:

DP: Do you call guys by their first names on the ice? Like do you call out, "Hey, Jaromir"?
CP: No. I try not to call anyone by their first name out there. I call Jagr puffnuts.
DP: Puffnuts?
CP: Or knucklehead, because more often than not, he's whining to the ref when I'm out there. So I'm like, "Play the game, puffnuts."

He's generally been a top player at his position, though. And we've heard enough times what effect winning has on such things

That said, Pronger does have a certain attitude about him that simultaneously satisfies and slays the media/haters/whatevs.

They had the guy from Elias Sports Bureau on Bob McCown yesterday and they were tracking the odds throughout the game and said that at the point they pulled the goalie there was a 99.9% chance the Leafs would win. Even after the Broooons scored the first goal to get within in the percentage only dropped to 98%.

Gotta have Stevens in there over Hatch I'd say.
