So just stand by and let people say whatever garbage they want, just so long as they don't come up with trades that you think are ridiculous.

I have no control over anything Bryzgalov has to say. And I don't care what he has to say on that subject. This is a Hockey website.

Read a little about stalin and the great purge and tell me its ok.
- twotoekenn

Ok I'm going to deduce what Bryzgalov's reasoning is for saying anything positive about Stalin. My guess is that Bryz believes that while Stalin was brutal, and in many senses of the word one of the evil rulers in humanity, what he did actually did have some positives for Russia in the long-term. Through essentially slave labor, he modernized Russia, primarily in it's infrastructure. He boosted the Russian economy by selling his people's food and starving them in the process. He united them, and eliminated factions vying for power, creating a more stable government. I think Bryz's argument is that what Stalin did was brutal, but it helped. He essentially picked Russia up, and slapped it back into shape. What he did will always be looked down on throughout history, and he will never get thanks for it because of that, but the results show. He brought Russia from being essentially disorganized, poverty stricken, and chaotic to being a world power. Gotta look at all sides of things dude.

From anyone who isnt from Russia, someone from Slovakia like me, Stalin is a dirtbag.

I'll leave it at that though, weird topic.

What are the glaring holes
- Just5

I didn't say he has glaring holes. Obviously the Coach there had a reason for not playing him. I haven't watched enough of him to state specifically what areas of his game are weak. But from a simplistic standpoint. Star players and Hall of Fame players such as Nik Lidstrom have no glaring holes in their game. Young developing players such as Gardiner, have areas of their game that need to improve.

My family escaped from Russia to Japan and then the United States at the beginning of the Russian Revolution, they were nobility but were forced to leave everything behind. I guess I indirectly understand. I'm not born there or anything, but it's my family's story, which I guess can help me to understand a little bit better.

Yes, as I said earlier. I don't care what he has to say on that subject. And I doubt the Flyers care either. They, like I do, care how well he stops the puck.

Jan 2, 1939: Times Magizine's man of the year was Adolf Hitler. Most of the worst people in history were surprisingly good leaders, you just only look at their acts of evil. Not saying I endorse them, or think what they did was right in any way, just saying you can't be so narrow sighted about things.

You seem to have no faith that Coots has the ability to play the 2nd line next year. Why is this?
- JAKEw1234

Yes! I have little faith in that to be honest. He was demoted to 4th line duties at one point and looked lost for the first 30 games. Why do you think he can be the second line center next year? I think in the future but next year? No.

It's irrelevant to the Flyers. And to the team. Are you also confusing not caring what he has to say on the subject with minimizing what happened? Seriously? We're talking Hockey here. It Bryzgalov want's to be ignorant on a subject, that's his problem. All I care about is how he plays on the ice.
- MJL

he justified it, which was ignorant...btw, ed snider was an advocate for soviet Jewry.

I actually believe he was lost BECAUSE he was demoted to the 4th line. Stupid move by Lavy imo. Hard to improve your game alot playing 5 to 10 mins a game.

And playing with less talented linemates. Hard to develop an offensive game in that situation.
