Brown is dirty, but yes nowhere near as dirty as torres. Torres hsould have been thrown out forever after the Hossa hit...then again Bertuzzi should have been thrown out after his punch to the back of the guys head years ago...

That being said, this hit wasn't dirty, it was a hard hit to the shoulder. If you don't like this, you don't like hitting in hockey. If Penner were to have thrown this hit, it wouldn't even be a story other than "woah, did you see that hit!"

Funny enough, Penner did have a very similar hit that was almost a shoulder to head. No mention of that by Kings fan looking for Raffi's head on a penalized hit.

Doesn't matter who is dirtier, Brown or Torres. Brown did not headhunt last night. Torres did!!

What in the hell would they penalize Penner for? Not bringing enough butter to the game? Enticing opposing players with extra syrup? Lumps in the batter? I don't get it.

His hit looked pretty good to me.

In person meeting with the NHL today for Torres. Have to think, based on his history, there's going to be a suspension, possibly 6 games so he's gone for the remainder of the series at least. They could go more or less or none at all, but if I had to take a guess that's what it'll be.

I didn't think it was bad per se, but it looked very close to the Torres hit that is getting all this talk.

When we traded for Torres I vowed that no matter what, I would never stick up for him even though he was goning to be a Shark. I am going agaist that now. He has been pretty clean this year. Just 6 minor penalties all year and 1 fighting major when he had to go agaist Chicago from last years Hossa hit. I dont believe he was intending to injust or aiming for the head agaist Stoll. He was just play tough hockey and going for a shoulder to shoulder hit that slipped up into Stolls head. All that being said, I think he'll likely get 2 gaems based on reputation and Stoll having to leave the game.

Anyway, how come no one isactually talking about the hockey game? For the most part I would say that Sharks out played the Kings but Quick definitely out goaltended Niemi. No that Niemi was bad, but he should have stopped the first one. A shot from the top of the circle with no screen and just 12 seconds to go in the period. And then Quick jsut played like a beast. The defense in front of him wasnt to shabby either

Right. Cause Brown has put someone in the hospital. Comparing Torres to Brown? Yeah. Ok.

Really? Who is that guy Brown took out right before the playoffs - Pominville? Tell that to him.

Apparently the league feels differently.

Good game. Will be an excellent series. Quick was the difference. Love seeing highest caliber goaltending.

Anyone else make the hit that Torres made and it wouldnt be a suspension. Penalty yes for the head instead of shoulder shot. I realize Torres has made his bed and will suffer but that hit looks as if it just got away from him and Stoll saw it coming. Not a Torres fan but a call to the principal is BS.

Look at the video of the first goal clearly showing Richards holding Irwin's arm/stick so that he could not recover to the puck. Crafty move. Bush league but crafty.

Brown is no where near as dirty as Torres. At least some of the tine when Brown delivers a big hit its clean. Every single big hit Torres thrrows is dirty. I hope Torrres is done. Not just for the playoffs but forever.

Any team that employs Torres deserves thr Curse of Raffi !

CURSE OF RAFFI = No Stanley Cups ever.... Vancouver, Phoenix, SanJose....

- mrpaulish

You know, he did start his career in Edmonton...

I have no problem with that hit. Guys shouldn't be bending over, playing the puck with their hands any ways. Keep your head up when Raffi is on the ice!
