I am guessing Q is off his meds. He finally gave into his internal compulsion to isolate a guy and eff with his head.

In the tradition of Frolik, Brouwer, Buff, Versteeg, Campbell, etc..and others going back over the years.

This...

And the thing that happens is fans make comments on these players based on how Q treats them. Only to see them leave and kill it elsewhere. I don't see how this mind game if that's what it is... Makes this a very desirable place for Stalberg to want to ink as a UFA.

We're "stupid," yet you read "bit**" from "dich." What does the cat think about that?
- Q...argh

Since there isn't a word "dich" it looked like were self censoring yourself.....which I originally thought was admirable but now....I go back to that word stupid.

True but if Stalberg lights it up it becomes a happy moment for all. I posted earlier I remember Stalberg having a few stints in the Q dog house last year and he would always put together a string of good games afterwards.......maybe Q is thinking along these lines.

I assume that there is no letter "k" in the cat alphabet, then? I hope I don't make you know what out of you know who by assuming ...

I often think that the Hawks win not because of Q, but in spite of him. In any event, the team is both talented and deep enough to beat Detroit despite his weird coaching decisions. As long as everyone plays hard (and smart), things should be fine.

It's the same thing. As long as Q gets the team to win I don't care how he does it.

I don't think Stalberg has done anything at all... To warrant this kind of treatment. He is a very important part of our best line vs the Wild. We won 4-1. He had a very good regular season. With him being a pending UFA assuming you think he is a valuable piece here- this is nothing short of stupid. Why exactly would he want to come back here and deal with this high school crap?

I agree. Hawks can win regardless. This kind of stuff will guarantee him in another sweater next year. And it's unwarranted IMO...

Reading some of the posts on Twitter, Stalberg apparently irrate about his status. Hasn't spoken to Q about it.

Q jerked this guy a lot too (though still think he is a great coach that the Hawks are the best team in the NHL unless bounced):

Maybe it's just me, but if a team didn't care for their coach for some reason, why would they "in spite of him?" That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I would think a team would quit on a coach, to force a change. Winning doesn't exactly get coaches fired.

Great point. We could give dozens of examples across all major sports of talented teams who failed at winning anything because of their disdain for their coach. I think the "winning in spite of" thing is to easy......and it's easy for us to second guess a coach as we sit in the ivory tower but....he does have the most wins for an active coach in the NHL.....tends me to believe he does know a thing or two.

I know...I couldn't get the right shade of hulk green.

Edit: I don't think I'll be able to beat the "Stan on a Unicorn" so I think it's time to retire from the Photo Shop game.

Just the opposite, Players play to win. They come to the rink with motors, they don't need anything from anyone to be motivated to play. I am not saying anything either way about Q here, but just like the front office and marketing crap, players can care less. Yes it can be annoying, but grown men realize the limited time they have to accomplish their professional goals and so long as they have a jersey on their back...they have at it. I have said it here many times, under a lot of scrutiny, all players don't just play for team they are on, they play for any and all teams who can see them and may want them.

I hope this is just a blip from the boredom between series, but if it becomes a distraction, then shame on Q for preemtively screwing with things.

I agree with this, for the most part.

More of the point I was trying to make, and it seems like I wasn't direct enough, but I can't see how a team "wins in spite" of their coach. If the coach's message was totally falling upon deaf ears, and the team was to go on a mutiny, It would make more sense to actually quit on the coach in hopes of a change, rather then winning.

Replacing a coach of a winning team goes against the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality.

Just sayin'.
