Oh so fans are making trades these days? Sorry but this isn't NHL14. - kingsfirstcup
No, but fans certainly have an opinion on their own teams players, and whether the deal is alright value wise.
And since fans tend to overvalue their own teams' players, when a fan of the opposite team in the trade suggests they would make the deal, at the very least it's plausible in respect to player for player value.
But whatever, you can let your Canuck hate dictate your opinion as much as you'd like |

So, how many A-hole Canuck fans were banned for trolling the Leaf thread after last night? - 1970vintage
There were a few digs from Canucks fans as to be expected, but for the most part most guys were pretty classy with their comments. |

Guys, this team aint going to change much.......we won't be able to unload who we want due to contract constraints.........I hope that we keep this team and watch it tank for a year, get a good pick and re-build for 2014-15.
We only have 12 players signed for 2014-15 including Ballard, Booth and Luongo who will all likely be cut loose or given away meaning we only have 9 guys signed worth a mere $35 million on what will likely be an increasing cap.
We can sacrifice a year and re-tool for 2014-15 through the draft and free agents because I just don't see much changing next season.... |

not sure... Seto and cullen maybe? - SMP8719
Kind of my point... He hardly had the system & linemates to succeed in Minnesota. I think he could still be a 70 point player (30G/40A) in the right situation. Not even sure if THIS is the right situation until a coaching decision is made. |

And you think that we have better players on our second line?? do you really think shoot first Kesler is going to help Heatley? Or the other way around....
Who are our second line wingers?? kassian..... Higgins... Hansen..... Booth.... raymond..... Seto is better the all of those and Cullen is an under rated player. |

I just wouldn't expect much in the way of change. Gillis is married to his investments and has proven (other than with Sundin) that he's afraid to be bold....I suspect it'll be another year of the same ol' same ol'.......... |

He's supposed to be meeting with the Aquillini family this week. We're 1-8 in the last 9 playoff games. If his big vision is to stay the course then he should be relieved of duties. |

Uh... I said "Not even sure if THIS is the right situation until a coaching decision is made."
The rest is irrelevant until our new staff is in place. All I'm saying is I'd be FOR signing Heatley to an affordable short term deal if our new system suits his game and we can surround him with better talent than Setoguchi & Cullen (both of whom you overrate). |

If we can get Heatley for the same as what we were paying Raymond for I can't believe people have an issue with it. Doubtful he'd be taking any younger player's spot. That said, Heatley will likely get far more than what we'd be willing to pay and for a longer term. |

He would make jamie benn the new may ray and we could snatch him for draft picks - RF_4eva
Well, to be fair, I'd say Raymond was one of AV's boys with the number of chances he got...
Maybe Ballard would be a better choice in that scenario.
After a few games in the press box, Benn wouldn't be able to get out of Dallas quick enough |
