As long as Edler goes, right? - Fosco
Either Edler Hamhuis or Garrison. Edler is the one without a NTC . I honestly think that Vancouver has underacheived for most years and there should be only two untouchables on this team and their contract ends next year .Then all bets are off |

I do.
Certain players make/define teams.
Canucks aren't the Canucks without the Sedins or Burrows.
EDIT: cue the "Burrows really defines the Canucks—biters/divers" comments... - Fosco
Will have to respectfully disagree. When the players that define your team can no longer produce in the post season then any responsible GM would have to look at other options if the value is there. Burrows is a player I'd keep largely because I don't think the return he'd net would ever match his effort and heart. Keeping the Sedins after going MIA for the last 3 playoff series is questionable. Again, I'm not sure I want that to define my franchise but of course I will reiterate that the value in trade would have to be there. |

4 of 5 Playoffs we have underacheived . I am not to sure what definition the Canucks have. Biters/divers whinners are facts not spiteful comments from other fan bases. We earned those names.
I know players like Doughty Keith Couture Thorton Bolland Marchand are hated also ,but we have three of the top ten hated players in the game. Sometimes I wish they would just shut up and play. Take a page from the Leafs book last night. |

I agree with everything . I would let the Sedins play out their last year because of what they have done for the community . I would try to find a better first line though or even split them up |

That may be true, but the reality is that this Canucks core hasn't won the cup. Heading into this off-season with a list of untouchables seems silly, given that this core has had ample time to get the job done. Nobody is saying that Burrows, or Kesler, or whoever needs to be dealt, but in my opinion it would be foolish to hang up any call without doing due diligence. |

Agreed. When staring at the faces of your franchise becomes a trip down memory lane every time then that can't be good for your team's future. Some of the core needs to re-shuffled. |

If I'm MG I'd have a chat with the Sedins now about the next contract. If they can come back for say 4m per then that becomes our 2nd line. In the meantime, as you say, it's time to think outside the box to acquire a new top line. |

I was impressed with Kassian and even Schroeder last year . I would like to see them injected as regulars and allow guys like Archie and Corrado to play also.
If we can get a stay at home tough guy ,like a younger Wille Mitchell, for a 6 spot ,and a better passer for the top 4 , then our Dcore should be ok for 3 years or so. |

An Edler for Simmonds trade would give you a top RHF . We do have other big pieces that can be packaged for a top line center . A UFA or Booth could be LHF also . Many options to take in.
I also think a Burrows Kesler Simmonds would be an awesome first line. |

No Canucks core has won a cup.
1 team wins the cup a year.
I've watched them not win the cup 29 times and enjoyed every season, regardless.

Not sold on that as a top line. They all seem like similar players, and I don't see the pure skill and playmaking that most top lines have but that's just me. I still maintain that AV's system and the coaching in general was the biggest problem for this team's lack of scoring. That being said, I wouldn't be against trading Edler for Simmonds at all. |

If you are referring to last year playing good , that has been their best playoff ever . The other ones not so much. |

They were both in the Conn Smythe conversation before the Boston series two years ago. I wouldn't call that MIA. |

So if we are paying the guy that is always injured to be a center and no one has faith in him why is everyone so hell bent not to trade him? |
