I wasn't sure when I woke up if what I thought happened really happened.

I've just come on here and reading through the comments it appears it wasn't a dream. We actually blew a 4-1 lead with 10 minutes to go in game 7

Yeah Ive got to say...that was a perfect storm. Boy was it tough to watch unfold.

3 goal 3rd period lead in game 7.

Good morning. Sorry for your loss. As an outsider, it was one heck of a game to watch, and you should be proud of your team. Tough to take I'm sure, but also a lot to be proud of.

Yeah, gonna be tough to feel that way.

I think most of us would be happier had they come out and lost 5-1. My real fear is that this sticks with the team.

It will be interesting to see if the Habs or the Leafs make the playoffs next year.

This is a HUGE learning experience for the Leafs. Young team who had no playoffs experience gain a lot of it...the amount of publicity they received and the energy from their arena in addition to Bostons arena would be hard to play in Im sure. This will allow them more confidence carrying forward and perhaps teach them something about how to play (or not play) a 4-1 lead with 10 minutes to go.

This team cant possibly be anything but hungry next year.

Not much condolence for all you guys I'm sure, but heads up boys you played a hell of a series. A lot of good things to come from this team IMO

OK.
Can you guys stop with the "young team" crap?

Only 4 players under 25.
16 players between 25-29, players who should be in their prime.

Inexperienced? Maybe. But "young team"?

I know I know, you'll pull the "they are the youngest team in the league" CBC mantra... Whatever. Chicago were a "young team" when they won the Cup.

Gotta give the grumpy (frank) credit. He did a little reading and checked out some birthdays to add to his attack.

Go to another thread if you don't wanna hear people try to justify one of the most heartbreaking losses ever today.

People are gonna be grasping at straws all day trying to understand what happened.

Sorry. But they are a young team. The team that will be carrying forward, their core if you will, are young. Who cares if they have a certain amount of players between certain age groups...its simply the fact that what the team is being built around is young. Most of the older guys are interchangeable.

On a side note. How did the crowd react once they left the Square? Did they actually do Toronto proud and not cause a ruckus?

I kept doing the usual Leaf thing of getting myself prepared for the loss. Kept telling everybody no matter what happens in this game I'll be fine with it because the balls they showed coming back and forcing game 7. I can't look at last night's game and say that.
