I said if the Leafs won the Cup in my life time I would get a tattoo to celebrate. I may have to get one to commemorate this series.

We know Bozak was scratched and Gunnarson was injured. I am not convinced Lupul wasn't injured.

I actually thought Kadri was a positive sign. He finished season slowly, and started the playoffs slowly, but I noticed him in the play a lot and he did not end up having too bad of a series.

You need to take #3 as well.
- weirdoh

Yeah, I dont think too many people have been impressed by the captains abilties this playoffs. A few of the younger guys stepped up and he, well, didnt imo.

Lupul was definitely playing as though he was injured...wasnt playing too agressive and hardly played the body on times that he should have.

Code of conduct rules for Leaf threads amendment Section 1:
1. Marchand gifs are ban worthy on the spot, unless it is his head exploding.

He compares a lot to Silfverberg oddly enough
- AdamFrench
Silf is good ,but i dont see him as a 40 goal sniper .More like the 25 goal steller two way guy really

ok, gotta talk about Carlyle. I love the guy. I don't know how many times I came in here after games this season and wrote this post:

I Carlyle.

Having said that, he simply dropped the ball last night during the meltdown. At some point, he needed to call a time out and offer basic instructions to his team, which was clearly, utterly falling to pieces. We are not talking about rocket science coaching in these situations. Basic reminders to at the very least try to re-focus his team (cover the points, move the men out of the crease), which was clearly lost in a twilight zone. He has to wear some of this for his failure to at least try to stem the tide. I think that he, too, was caught in a this-can't-be-happening meltdown.

It doesn't bother me that much, it was devastating at the time but it's just a game, nothing more. We got to watch some playoff games.
- LeafMan

Yeah my concerns are WAY more about making the playoffs next season and whether or not it is even possible to address the holes in the team this off-season.

Last night was sickening. The worst I have felt as a Leafs fan since 1993.

Gotta let it go though and look at the big picture. The Leafs were a really competitive team this year.

EDIT: Thanks for removing his gif. There isn't a player i hate more than that guy right now. Bergeron may have scored the tieing and winning goals, but I find him to be a classy player. Marchand's a little rat.

- mykokes

... not to mention that Bergeron is a good story coming back from the huge concussion problems. Would love to have him on the Leafs.

Once they let the elbow to JVR go, I really really really wanted to see an elbow smash his face. Steve, if you really don't want me to go off, keep the Richard heads gifs out of this thread.

yeah, cause JVR is suuuuuch a clean player, ....
refs put their whistles away the whole game, lots of stuff was let go on both sides. cant believe the Leafs let the B's back in like that, great series though.

I said it at the beginning of the season, all I want is for them to be competitive, while others said I settle for mediocrity and tanking is the best way to go.

To me I just want to see effort on the ice and the rest can fall where it may.

What this series has done, is that none of bs about how great certain guys are is over. They know, and we know exactly the type of guys they have. Leafs have a good team going forward but the needs have now been emphasized.

Kulemin didn't show up on the score sheet but I thought he played a very strong series.

Grabo was strong, and with Bozak likely gone, I think the Leafs keep him.

Leafs need some beef at centre IMO.

We needed Bozak in the worst way in those last 10 minutes. Did we even come close to winning a face off after the 4-2 goal?

And besides the face-offs, he's one of our best players in his own end.

Reimer controlling the rebounds or not makes no difference is you lose every draw cleanly and fail to even touch the puck on the following shift.

Yep, a timeout would have been at least something to slow it down. The Leafs also iced the puck a whole bunch of times late in game 6, but for some reason were desperately trying not to do that in game 7. Yes, they may lose the draw but the point is to slow down the game, make the desperate opposition stop for a minute. They had a 4-1 lead, they could have iced it so many tyimes in a row but were trying to make a play, just get it out!
