Can't replace McClement...he's been the biggest reason for our improved penalty killing. O'Byrne and Orr I agree with. Dion has one more year left on his contract, it may be time to consider flipping him for some young players/picks they can use to acquire other dmen. Nonis has his work cut out for him this offseason, but in all honesty, it's not as bad as it seems right now. Sometimes hard lessons are an effective way through which to learn what playoff hockey is about.

How about Phaneuf for Big Joe?

Our 1c would be solved.

wanna talk about lack of calls? Lupul getting dropped, cross checked and punched, JVR getting his nose broken by a clear-as-day elbow, grabo getting his face carved with a stick... where the (frank) were those calls?
- Feeling Glucky?

The only non call I would question is the Lucic boarding Gunnar one, that has been made all year and in the playoffs, that is a dangerous play that needed to be called but for some reason they let it go. C'est la vie.

Um yeah you did. You basically called us Habs fans. We'll see what Leafman sees fit as a proper way to handle this. Seeing as he's one of the most respected and loved people on this site, I'd say there's a good chance you'll get what you deserve. Have a nice break.

I'm going to try to be positive today and not over react, I sent a small timeout to only one.

edit: make that a little more time added to one ban.

I don't want to dwell on excuses, but Lucic's boarding non-call when just a week ago Sedin was tossed in OT for less... that was a real low point in what's been a terrible officiated playoffs so far.

How do you draw blood on two separate infractions, and not even get 2 minutes?

I'm not blaming the Refs for the loss- the Leafs had the game in control despite that crap... but how do you let a team get away with so many blatant attempts to injure?

Kelly broke JVR's nose with an elbow. And it's not like it was follow through or anything. I forget who it was that got his stick on Grabo, but he had a gash under his eye from that. Gotta get poop like that outta the game.

Lucic boarding on Gunnarsson? I don't see how Kelly's elbow doesn't get reviewed. The Refs lost control of that game early, and it got nasty in a hurry.

When you blow a 4-1 lead and none of the opposing goals came on the powerplay tough to blame the refs.

I do agree though I coudln't believe some of the calls they let go. The rask blocker in the face to Lupul and the elbow on JVR were the most glaring.

I lost it when I saw that happen... stuff like that has to be called, I guess only if the player is seriously hurt does it matter. Boston could have a couple suspension if it were the reg. season.

Yes, and please, let's not rip apart all the players here, looking for goats. Phaneuf for all his gaffs, logs big minutes and was playing hurt; that was a team loss. You can't sit back with a lead, especially if you're the Leafs: attack is the best defense and we rolled over and died the last 10 minutes of the game.

in a game 7 that stuff isnt going to get called unless someone gets injured (and no, JVR wasn't injured). calls in game 7 are going to be made when scoring chances are impeded. that's about it. Bruins knew this, Leafs will know next time.
