So I guess that stat about OV only scoring against the broken franchises in his division wasnt overblown LOL. His whole career is built on being in the worst division in PRO sports, not just hockey. Pathetic failure like everyone who really really understands hockey has known all along. This guy isnt built to play in NHl playoffs, may as well just go to the KHL now and win what the frank ever you win there |

And I can see the Caps are having their annual game 7 choke job too. As much as I don't mind seeing OV and Leonsis suffer, I truly feel bad for MadCap and Blackstrom. It must be brutal to be a Caps fan... - Emperor Filonius
Still can't even get his team to the ECF once in his career. |

people wonder why no one in the southeast has success? because when you play loser teams for half of the season, your play reflects that.
gotta wonder what the caps do. they have to do something.
I cant believe Toronto lost... I hate Boston with a passion. would have loved to see them lose in round 1. I think boston would be the better match up for us.
but you don't wish that to happen to any fan base... even Toronto. |

Scott Harrington and Ollie Mataa and the London Knights win their series after trailing Barrie 3-1 in the series.
Pic of Captain Harrington taking the Cup.
Well done to some future Penguins, Good luck in the Memorial Cup vs Pouliout/Seth jones and Portland. Aslo MacKinnon's Halifax team is in, going to betop notch in the Memorial Cup.
2 Penguin 1st rounders, 1 Penguin 2nd round Captain and the likely #1 and 2 overall in the draft. |

Gotta think B's are going to get a big lift from this win. Huge confidence boost.
They just became very dangerous. |

Who was the DB troll that came on here at the trade deadline and said Maatta has been a huge disappointment?

If Lucic plays like he can; the Bruins are dangerous. He has played less amount of game as OV had this year. With goals in his last two play-off games, I bet Lucic has only played well 15 games this year.

I think he's right in line with his develpoment. Pouliout is the alleged next Letang. Maata has been solid. All 3 are very different players. |

Lucic Horton and Krejci all had pretty poor years. Seguin and Marchand pretty much carried them offensivley.
But that line dominated the leafs 5 on 5. |

Watching that amazing Boston comeback reminds me why I'm never calm even if the Pens have a rather large lead. |

Was that not the biggest choke job ever seen? Up 4-1 with 10 left and 4-2 with 1:20 left in regulation in game seven and lose in OT? - Oneonta Penguin
Nope the Bruins blowing the 3-0 lead in game 7, after blowing the 3-0 series lead.
But that game was another perfect example of why sitting on a lead is not a good thing. Continue to pressure even though you are winning but do it smartly. It is a million times easier to protect a lead playing 200ft from your own net. |

I'm looking forward to see Harrington AND Maatta on the Pens.
Harrington might have a game close to Josh Gorges which is cool. Our new Orpik in the locker room.
Maatta = Despres but with a better offensive game.
On a side note...I really hope we don't blow Despres' development. The guy needs confidence and to play whenever it's possible.

The highlights are all up. Pouliot put in the Oil Kings' goal himself haha.
Despres needs to get top 4 time (+PK/PP) every game next year no matter what. If he'd been allowed to make mistakes this regular season he'd already be one of our best defenseman. |

There are going to be changes to our D core in the offseason. I do think Niskanen could be dealt based on his play in the play-offs for a third rounder and then Despres fills in there. However, based on the way he was jerked around this year, I wonder if he is viewed as a solution moving forward by management. They can say all they want, but actions speak louder than words. Eaton and Murray will be interesting as far as what they do with them. Dumoullin should be ready as well. |
|
|
|
They jerked Letang around all 08 playoffs and he turned out pretty well. Some inconsistent play by a 21 year old defenseman in the playoffs is to be expected. He better be viewed as a big peice of the future. |

I can't even imagine how sick that Leafs fans are today.
And what else can you say about the Caps? Isn't Ribero looking for a long term $5 mil+ deal? Yeah, good luck with that. Now Ovi is blaming the refs, after he got away with a blatent charge/boarding on McDonough. The refs suck and aren't calling anything in these playoffs, but it doesn't mean that they are doing it to screw the Caps.
The Rangers and Bruins are both large teams. I hope that they completely beat the hell out of each other for seven games.

Thanks, it is brutal. The Caps turned out to be a bit of a one-trick pony, unable to generate much offense 5 on 5. They NEEDED PP opportunities in order to score, especially against a guy like Lundqvist. I won't go on a long rant, and I know you guys are less than sympathetic to Ovechkin, but if you watched the series and see the disparity in PP opportunities, there is some merit to what he said. Regardless, it sounds like sour grapes after having your ass handed to you in a Game 7 at home. |
