Congrats, fellas. Good game; good series.

Not a good game. Only felt good because of the win. I'm still disgusted at how the pens played. You should be happy with the isles. If they play their cards right at the draft/free agency, they could be a serious threat

Its sad it took u guys that long to put them away. All that talk of how unstoppable you guys would be after the deadline deals looks pretty funny now. Ur defense is horrible and will not get u a Cup this year, im pretty sure thats what will keep you from even getting the the Finals which sucks cuz i wanted Hawks Vs Pens for the cup.

So do we just play Vokoun til he gets cold again? He's the only reason the pens won this game.

Hockey is a game of matchups and the Islanders provided some challenges. I wouldn't write us off for the Cup, or our defense. Absent Toronto, there isn't a team left that possesses what the Islanders have in the East as far as speed.

You on the other hand played a garbage Minnesota team in the opening round. The Islanders would beat them.

Was that a six game series or a sixteen game series because that's what it felt like??

The Isles gave it all they had. I have to give them credit. I honestly didn't think it was going to be that tough.

I doubt the Pens can show up like they did in this series and expect to win in the next round. Still, they played poorly but managed to get their first and only lead when it mattered the most.

Maybe if we fire bylsma mid playoff push we will get there all he says is the team is sloppy with the puck and they need to stop committing turnovers yet every game turnovers galore

Id guarantee the hawks would be in the same place against this isles team.

A garbage team that lost its starting goaltender before facing a single shot in their series.

Whoever picked him to get the GW please raise your hand.

The '13 Pens have indeed exorcised the demons of David Volek and that '93 team.

Minnesota didn't have a chance of winning that series even if they had Martin Brodeur in his prime in net. They can't score.

Hawks also squeaked out their first win like the pens did. Hawks were terrible in games 1 and 3. Like the pens though, their depth, skill, and experience got the better of the 8th seed teams.

How do you even think of putting MAF back in? Vokoun was spectacular. I'm a fan of MAF and I think he can come back strong, but he would have lost that sh*tstorm tonight by 5 goals.

This team still has a few demons it needs to exorcise. They play like they're possessed...by something.

You don't put him in until Vokoun has a problem. That said ... Ottawa brings totally different set of challenges than did the Islanders. They don't have the speed, the offensive skill or the transition game as do the Isles. That was a major problem as to why our defense sucked.

I think you go to fleury in game one at least. It's a clean slate let him start fresh but have a short leash. If fleury manages to get hot in these playoffs this team has a much larger chance of winning it all.

Have to disagree. Ride the hot hand. Like Oneonta says, if Vokoun has a shaky game or two, go right back to MAF.

I don't really blame Fleury for a couple of the bad performances. He was really hung out to dry. My only reservations about the guy is he still struggles with confidence and this is the wrong time of the year to have that problem.

That's for sure. You never know which team will show up from game to game, period to period, shift to shift. They need to be way more consistent than what we've seen.

Least deserved playoff win I can ever remember, but I'll take it. I can now say the name David Volek without throwing up in my mouth. Of all the huge additions at the deadline, the quiet one Shero made before the season turned out to be the most important one.

I completely agree with your concerns about his confidence but he isn't going to get it back sitting on the bench. Everybody knows he's a talented goalie if he just into his grove he's fine but it is a thin and dangerous line between very good and very bad with him.
