MVP shouldn't be solely based off point totals though. JT should win because he is the only reason the NYI are even in the playoffs let alone relevant. Crosby is very good but the Penguins can win without him and have shown they can. Whether he plays or not doesn't decide his teams fate. With JT and Ovi, without those 2 players their teams are no where near playoff contention. The Norris and Hart have become more about point production than anything else. Thats why they have the Richard and Ross trophy. They really need to make an Orr trophy for top scoring Dman.

They need to re-sign Leddy, Stalberg, Bickell and Kruger.

Kruger is rapidly becoming—or already is— a quality, shutdown NHL center. Then they have Philip Danault and Joakim Nordstrom a year or two out.

And Bolland gets hurt. A lot. And he has trade value in spite of it.

I'm betting Montreal, Toronto or Florida is where he plays next year.

There is a big difference in pushing your team from 10th to 8th and it's making the playoffs. The Penguins are good without Crosby, The Ilses and Caps, not so much without JT or Ovi

Are the capitals really bad without ovi? He's not the only one that surged. Robeiro, Backstrom, Brouwer, green and holtby came up big. Ovi stood on one side of the power play and took one timers. His defensive game was piss poor. You aren't valuable to you're team if you don't back check and only play your best 24 of the 48 games this season. It should be either Tavares or Sid

Toews and kane dont need the Hart they will be co MVP's of the stanley cup playoffs and hoisting the Stanley Cup instead
