unsign him. now.

I get why it's being done even though more than a few of the goals given up he had no chance on and the team left him out to dry.

Anyone have any opinions on Edler or Phaneuf? A toronto columnist said that they should trade Dion. Its probably not reputable and I would not want him. He has literally no hockey sense.

I dont know too much about Edler.....

I like Edler, he's got skill and he played Game 7 of the SCF with 2 broken fingers, so he's got guts too.

I cant' stand Phaneuf. He's reasonably skilled, reasonably tough, but he picks the worst times to be a lunkhead. Rumor had it that he and L. Schenn didnt get along in Toronto. I'm not sure I believe that rumor.

I just assumed that without hearing the rumor. If you watched the last Flyers v Leafs game this season, Phaneuf tried starting a fight with L Schenn in front of the net and they got in a pretty good scrum. That was one moment on top of a few others that convinced me that Phaneuf is naturally just a D bag, and I don't think we would want his locker room presence. I'd like Edler, or Erik Johnson, for that matter.

Yeah im just trying to think through options. I really dont want phaneuf. As someone else above said he picks the worst times to be stupid. i can imagine that would be infuriating

I think E. Johnson is a little too soft and the price would be too high. If they were willing to offer him for something rather cheap I would still take him.

What do you think the price is for Edler?

It's hard to tell. With Seth Jones coming in, I can't tell if Johnsons price would go down as one would expect, or if it would go up in the case that Colorado plans to make them a long time pair. I would say, as little as colorado needs center, B Schenn or coots would be a starting point. I'd like it if it could be read + mez/coburn + picks, but I imagine that might not fly so well.

I can't imagine the price not being exorbitant. Skilled defensemen command very high prices both in FA and in trades.

So you think he's trying to force the issue? It's more like you're hoping he wants out.

i want what's best for the team and i'm not alone. the cap recapture is another millstone weighing on this decision. you're willing to risk that i guess...

If you want what's best for the team, then Bryzgalov playing well and backstopping the team to success, would be a potential option you would consider. But I've yet to read you state anything other then hoping for a buyout. Cap recapture is a long way off.

Considering Jones probably won't step in and immediately be a top pair defenseman, the Avalanche drafting Jones isn't a sign that Johnson would be traded.

correct but it is a sign that in the coming off seasons Johnson could become available depending on how well Jones development goes, and obviously depending on Colorados plans for the pair. If I were their GM I would keep both of them personally, but I understand Colorado's GM doesn't always make the wisest decisions, is the nice way to say it

His first goal was awesome too, nice deflection in front of the net.

Corey Perry worked with him during the lockout.

No, Sherman is a pretty poor GM, but a decision on Johnson should be 3-5 years away.

I hope it never is a decision. I'd love to see Colorado's strong youth core grow into an elite team.

Anthony Camara just steamrolled his future teammate Seth Griffith...........Camara has been suspended once these playoffs, should have gotten suspended from game 2 & just may get one after this one.
