no doubt
my concern is that a negative vibe in the room can make it tougher to win.. or play as a unit.

but again, its probably overblown

- Crimsoninja

I would say not probably, but definitely overblown. And much about nothing.

If it wasn't for the Cap recapture, I wouldn't have any worries about the deal.

Either way, the off season just got more interesting

Bryz sure sounds like a dude who is landing some parting shots on his way out the door. If he returns, it's going to be an annoying dynamic.

right or wrong, it's in his head. we went from him likely being back to i dunno. i wanted to move on for hockey reasons if the mkt provided an alternative, but now he's poisoned the well letting the media psyche him out or give him an easy scapegoat. bu-bye...

I don't think anything is in his head. Sounds to me like he has a good handle on it, and knows what it is. The media hasn't psyched him out. Nor is he using them as a scapegoat. Nothing could be further from the truth. He didn't come close to saying the media had anything to do with his performance on the ice. And do you really seriously think any of this media issue is going to impact whether he stays or goes? Every post you make on this is tainted with your personal hope that he's bought out.

anyone could say the same about your posts and your claims about the locker room dynamic are risible given you have no clue about the content of the exit interviews. actions speak louder than words. i've never seen any athlete complain so much about the media while performing up to expectations. so has he performed up to expectations? you really want 7 more yrs of this crap? haughty away...

I dont see why he cant just keep his mouth shut on the issue.

Whats he going to win exactly? Feeding them more, and more.

Are the odds that it will make it a better environment for him and the team? Or a worse one?

Rediculous. He showed earlier this season that he could just avoid the drama, but when things started to get bad on the ice, he couldnt keep his mouth shut or just stick to the cliche responses.

Based on comments, I used the GapGeek Cap recapture calculator. Wow, if I were an actuary I'd buyout Bryz ASAP unless I could trade him for something of value. I'd even eat salary short term for the right assets. The Pronger contract is like the sword of Damicles(sp?). If bryz and Pronger retired yikes.

It's a concern, but it can be a non factor. I really have concerns about What they would do if they decide to pull the plug. There's options, but nothing really enthralls me out there, unless there's a trade from left field that I don't see yet.

With who? He hasnt said anything bad about the team or fans.

Who gives an eff about the media? It cant get any worse. If anything it's good this is coming to light.

Does it really matter? It's just a cell phone game, it's not like he was on the bench.

That would be because no one is critical when people perform to expectations. Has nothing to do with the subject.

What if his kid had the phone? Does it really matter? It's much ado about nothing. Bryz haters will look at every scrap that comes down the pike, eat it up like crack, and beg for more. The gullibility of this fanbase is laughable.

I don't even think it's completely unreasonable to feel concerned about his comments about the media today, or the "teammates don't like him" thing, etc. I just think the Angry birds thing is exceptionally stupid.

I don't care about the comments. I don't care if he and his teammates get along. Get him some blinking help on the blueline, some forwards that will commit to team D and play tough, and that's it. I didn't want Bryz here but he's the Flyers goalie. Maybe he shouldn't be, but that has nothing to do with the subjects the local media discusses. It should be about him giving the team a chance to win. Of course, this past season was about the team not giving him a chance to win because they were anemic offensively and porous defensively until it was too late.

Do you have clues about the exit interviews? I'm the guy who doesn't use what I don't know to cloud my judgement. And I don't use hearsay to cloud it either when it comes to a player. But here we are again, and we've seen this before.
Here's what I want. I want what's best for the Flyers. And I have an open mind about it. And that open mind includes the possibility that Bryzgalov can be successful here. If what's best for the Flyers is moving on and buying him out. Then I'm good with that. Are you good with him staying? It seems not. With the buh-bye you added. You give zero consideration to many variables involved and hang your hat on this nonsense.
We're back to another TMZ event concerning a player, and you're buying it. It's deja vue.

Any chance that the New York Islanders might take Bryz off our hands? They seem to have both the need and the cap space to take him on, and I think he would be a nice match for them. But then again, maybe the owners aren't willing to take on that huge contract?

I don't know, I have enjoyed his honesty this season, and most of his games. Tough choices to be made.

Edit: Or for that matter: any chance that anyone might take Bryz off our hands?
