Douglas Murray can STILL make a difference, only in the offseason it wont cost us our many 2nd round picks - Habitants98

Frankly, I'm surprised that nobody has photoshopped a soccer jersey with Zibanejad's name on it yet. - 3M
late
there was already an EA Sports FIFA 13 banner with Zibanejad's picture on it, made 1 hour after that game |

Damn fans are impatient, Bergevin won't fix this team in a few months. He already made a couple questionnable signings he will have to fix but I doubt they were expecting to win the division when the season started. They peaked a little too early but it's not a reason to change the plan. |

No doubt.
The expectations placed on them in the playoffs were based on the season they had, though.
watching them go down in flames was... pretty frustrating. |

I hope Bergevin won't change his rebuilding plan because of the surprising regular season this team had .... old vets still need to go:
-Gionta (we have a perfect replacement for him in Gallagher)
-Markov (if we can get something of value for him)
-Moen (Useless)
-Kaberle (buy-out) - Traceur
i'm not so sure Kaberle is the buyout personally.
his hit is atrocious yes, but he's only got one year left. buying out Moen gives them more long-term flexibility. |

Can't buyout Moen. The amnesty buyout is only available for contracts with an AAV of $3 mil or more. |

Then why has the whole team been far better than last year, but Price still had the same average stats? - _nay_
Funny, because from what I understand, Price has been pretty much the same goalie as last year, and last year he was the best player for the Habs according to Molson Cup Voting and the only reason we had any wins last year. The difference between the two seasons is this year Habs had 3 lines that can score, and last year they had 1.
Let me ask you, when our Penalty kill is 23rd in the NHL, and the defence coach keeps putting Diaz and Gorges on the Penalty Kill, when it's clear that Subban should be out there EVERY TIME, what do you think Carey Price is thinking? You get 24 shots a game on you and the Habs are one of the most penalized teams in the NHL and you put soft D to kill penalties, what do you think it does to your SV% and GAA? 1 goal on 24 shots is not too bad, but 2 goals and it kills your SV%, you take 5-6 penalties a game and your PK is a 78%. Not a good recipe for success.
Stats say alot, but not everything. We need perpective. Better personel decisions etc.. |
