Interesting, I didnt think the leafs could compete as much as they have.
There is def some work needed, but a lot of the major parts are in place.
the leafs best players have looked like the best players. Gardiner is leading the team in playoff scoring...who saw that coming - senstroll
Yeah, the defense actually looks to be in better shape after this series than before.
Fraser looks like a keeper. Gardiner is showing he does have real talent. Gunnar is dependable, despite not being 100%.
I still can't believe we got Franson for Lebda.
And Phaneuf, for all the criticism he gets, has been great all year. He'll come back better having gone through his first playoff series as a captain. |

Major parts are in place? Ok then. Gardiner leading the team in scoring is scary enough in itself. - honesthockey

hmm it looks more like the leafs get up a goal or 2 and then forget to keep playing...then remember again - senstroll
Something I was thinking about this morning: the Leafs blew a 2 goal lead, and nobody really said boo about it.
A few years ago, that would have been the headline. Now, thanks to the rule changes, you can't just go up by two and kill the game.
I point this out because there is a large segment of the hockey-watching population who seem to think that the way to prove that you are knowledgable of the game is to criticize it, and say that Gary Bettman is doing a terrible job, and hockey was way better years ago.
Hockey is better than it was years ago. |

he played a little better last night...he still runs around the ice like a (frank)ing jerk.
I wonder if he has ever watched himself on tape.
He's fast until you need him to be fast - then he's just a (frank)ing puss!!!! |

I think Boston just says Ok time to play and the Leafs can't do anything about it.

We got Franson because we took Lombardi and his $$$$$$$$$ off of Nashvilles hands - so Franson cost the leafs like 8 kabillion $$$ but we didn't have to give up a player or much of a player |

of course there are holes.
I don't see the point of being a fan that deep down inside actually hates the team. |

And the winner was? That's the bottom line. Skate all pretty like Gardiner but at the end of the night lose. It's a pretty common theme on here that Leaf fans are happy just to be playing.

It's sorta true..he's as fast as (frank) when he has the puck..but when I guy goes outside on him..he stops moving his feet and becomes a liability. He's not the only one...PHANEUF if (frank)ing brutal too!!! Does that help? |

It also got ridiculously clogged up and defensive under his watch. Clutch and grab reached its apex under his watch. |

What were your expectations of Gardiner? They seem to be very high since all he can do is wrong in your opinion. He is a mid first round pick developing at a normal pace, what is he supposed to be doing?

Hey Leafs have looked pretty good against what some say is a powerhouse team.
Certainly better than they looked ALL OF APRIL. I don't think Boston is that great of a team...Their D is suspect - Chara then who??? |

My first thought was how the Fck could they lose after being up 2-0.. but Boston is a pretty good team, one line is killing the leafs they cant contain them at the moment. it actually doesnt bother me that they blew the lead, they answered back and had the better chances in the OT... Rask was better than Reimer, i expect that too |
