Even though Vokoun looks sharp, I don't like the tone of this game. Too many shots given up; not as many shots on Nabakov. At least we are throwing the body. Cooke has had three pretty significant hits thus far.

Definitely prefer the way they are playing though. It feels like its just the momentum thats off. They've been much better in the neutral zone.

Period looked pretty much the same as the previous 9 minus a goal or 2 from behind the goaline.

They just need to sustain pressure in the O-zone. They dump the puck in and can't win the race to the puck or a board battle. Then the isles break it out and get a shot on goal. Only reason the isles have more shots is because they are owning us along the boards

Yeah, it wasn't a great period of hockey for the Pens. If I were disco, I'd look for more chances to get Vitale and Kennedy on the ice. It's amazing that either of those guys were sitting for Glass.

This! The way they are playing is NOT the same as the other games. They are being patient with most passes, shorter passes, hitting more and clearing the net...I truly believe this is a game they win and can build off of. Part of the reason Malkin and Crosby aren't as noticeable is because they are coming a lot deeper for the breakout.

Thank God.

Not sure if they learned anything about how to attack the Islander D.

I agree to an extent, they're definitely taking less chances and because of that giving up less. Still losing board battles I'm use to seeing them win and still giving up way too many scoring chances though.

Once a goal is scored in this game it's going to change.

Malkin nor Crosby seem to be able to take a pass in stride. They're both hurting.

Rossi mentioned today on Pens Radio that Malkin is going to require surgery on his shoulder at the end of the season, whenever it may come.

Best Pens on the ice so far. While that's great to see it can't be the case if we're to be successful.

The isles do win a lot of board battles. One reason they're here. Pens are starting to win them now though. Have we all been underestimating Kennedy??? Geesh

I don't think so. I just think Kennedy hasn't been giving it all this year, obviously. Amazing what a little time in the press box can do.

I don't care how many shots they give up, I'm more worried about chances...which look to be even,

That must have been some magical popcorn he was eating in the pressbox for four games.

What a pass.
