If Nabokov put as much effort into stopping pucks as he does diving all over the place, the Isles would be better off. That guy acts like he's dead at least twice a game. - rival22

Its funny all the crying and whining that went on after Sid got raped in game 3 in OT. Now all this Isles team does if flop around like a bunch of fish. Funny thing is I have no idea why this team would want to go on the power play.
It was great when Stiegy and Bob called out Nabokov for flopping to the ground acting like he was knocked out when he clearly got hit in the arm.

Yeah, Nabokov holding his head after that "brush" was ridiculous. For a minute there I was thinking he was looking for a reason to get out. That other flop of his was equally funny.
Loved Vitale and Adams going right after Hamonic at the end of the game. They know they guy is hitting Malkin away from the play all game. No better time to go after than when you're team is up 4-0 late in the game. These guys know how to play their role.

No surprise at all, Ovie over Toews maybe a little. - nbartley9
It's only because he turned it on when Carolina started tanking. I don't like it. So many other players that do dirty work so he can flourish versus the other way around. You could argue that Holtby and Backstrom are more valuable to their team. Shouldn't be nominated if that's the case.

I wouldn't be surprised if Despres is in there again.
I think having Despres out there with Letang actually forces Letang to settle down a bit. Knowing a rookie is back there, he can't take all of the dumb chances that he has been taking.

I actually made an EDIT before you posted this. I was just thinking the same thing. Plus, Depres is a better skater than Eaton, and I think thats why he matches up better against the speedy NYI

I think Despres play well. I don't think he deserves to be benched....however wouldn't surprise me because he's played well before only to find himself in the dog house. Nisky still made me nervous.
One good thing to come out of this series is a little bit of a rivalry with the Isles. After Johnson punched Dipietro's face in that caused a little ruckus, but not a rivalry. Now, after how these Isles fans are; it makes a rivalry very natural.

Solid point. More competitive hockey. None of this:
I honestly think the Hart is Ovie's to lose. SE division or not.... They don't come anywhere close to putting together that run without Ovie turning it on.

I like Crosby for the Ted Lindsay though. - Genobuzz
It's a 2 horse race between Crosby and Ovechkin. If Crosby misses the first 12 games instead of the last 12, and puts up the same numbers, he runs away with it.

True enough. His PPG average has been out of control the last two seasons.... I feel like having Crosby for more than 70% of a season is a pipe dream for the next few years of his career.

While I agree with you on Crosby because it's obvious, I disagree about Ovechkin. Tavares deserves it far more. The Isles share a division with the Penguins, Flyers, Devils and Rangers. Two of those teams made the playoffs along with the Isles. How many made it out of the SE? Just one.
Tavares worked hard to get his team in. Ovechkin coasted and took the same predictable shots. Crosby and Tavares work on their game. He just sits there and takes solid passes from unselfish teammates that get him assists by rushing the net and putting in his rebounds. I see Toews, Kane and Getzlaf as far more worthy options than Ovechkin. Tavares probably wins it and that's fine with me. Can't fault Crosby for injury when the numbers are still close. You can fault Ovechkin for being an on ice scratch most nights though.
Wait until the conference/division changes come and Washington can't pull off the last minute junk they've done anymore.

That's the thing... It's like college football polls. A team with 1 loss is rank differently if that loss was in September or November.
