Little off topic, but anybody see this?

I think those two need get together and bang out some kind of a truce if they're going to co-exist as players wives on the same team

They were reacting to a rude comment from a guy sitting in their vicinity.

Exactly, and coaching played a huge part in that.

Mediocre drafting together with trading away picks for players now.

Yup.

Love the emphasis on ineffectiveness of the PP (completely justified) while ignoring the 5 on 5 cluster(frank) we've seen every game for 2 seasons. They're comin' for ya Newell Brown! RUN! You always know that failure will be pinned on the "other" assistant if AV's the head coach. How many have taken the fall during his tenure?

Also true, but I do like the Canucks OHL and NCAA scouts. They need new WHL and QMJHL scouts. Gradin is pretty good with Swedes(Outside of Rodin who sucked, but sounded promising at first).

Trying to find that info... For some reason I remember there being a few. I know the ones he inherited from Crow took the fall for his first failures.

Barry Smith and Mike Kelly in 2008

Year after Jack Adams when they missed the playoffs by 3 points.

Did the players give interviews?

And, of course, by that I mean did Luongo give an interview?

Yeah, standard stuff.

Didn't really give anything interesting.

Uhmmm thing is, all those questions have been asked...like 100 times.

They did ask if he would consider playing in a "lesser" market just to get his starter position back (paraphrased), but he did the ole ambiguous dodge.

Yeah, that's why it stands out... They got fired and he got an extension. Then it was Ryan Walter's fault. Now it's Newell Brown's fault. Has nothing to do with the unset lines/roles & 10 different defensive pairings.

Yes, that's why I'm asking.

His post-trade deadline interview was a fascinating train wreck to watch. I was wondering if he was going to be candid again, or just revert to the old "Yeah, we've just got to take it one game at a time, give 110%" audio loop.

My first concern would be if you're going to try a different voice, fine...but are the current options better or equal choices?

Who would you go after?

Apparently Bieksa's interview today was quite interesting. Hinted that changes need to be made(coaching staff?). Also hinted that the leadership in the locker room comes mainly from the players. Sounds like AV was a total player's coach, which is why I think this team needs a hardass type of guy to take over now. Teams seems to respond much better when the new boss is a completely different personality.
