What do I think is going on today? Just another condescending monotone manipulative excusefest. Gillis will bring his entire stock of snakeoil to the press conference & sell it 2 for 1.

Possible excuses:
- Officiating (whaaaaaaaan)
- Injuries
----- Tanev (excuse for using 10 different pairings per game - not exaggerating)
----- Booth (top 6 fwd - excuse for lack of goals & offensive depth)
----- Schneider (reveal his mystery illness/injury - why he looked "off")
----- unknown (new ones - possibly Bieksa or the annual Kesler injury revelation)

Not looking forward to it & don't expect anything of substance to be conceded.

Only GM in Vancouver that everyone can live with on a rebuild would be "Mr. Linden". If the owners of the Canucks want to right this ship once and for all, they should make it happen.

Linden - in
Gillis - out
Gillman - stays
AV- out
Ruff - in

Make Kesler the new captain and everyone else for future prospects.
We are in no way shape or form to compete with the Oilers or Blackhawks year after next anyways.

Who has stated he wants nothing to do with hockey at this point in his life...

Yeah, that would be a great decision...

A co worker today said Canucks should go after Doug MacLean for GM . He would be sure a lot more colourful than this deadbeat running the club now.

Your co-worker is (frank)ed in the head. That's like the Lakers hiring Stu Jackson to right the ship.

I don't see it as an upgrade.

If they're replacing the GM, I'd like them to send an offer to Sakic, although I doubt he leaves the Col franchise, since he just got some kind of promotion. If not him, then let Gilman have a shot.

Interestingly enough, a poster over on HF suggested the exact scenario that Ian did, with MG moving to president, Gilman to GM, and Nieuendyke to assistant.

I'm trying to guess whether that's Ian, or whether he just read it

I think Gilman would be good but I would not want Gillis still here , he would be still running the club if he was

Meh. I'm torn on Gillis. He's (frank)ed up royally the last two years, but was good before that.

I'm leaning more towards wanting him gone, but as long as AV goes, I'll consider it a positive offseason, regardless of what other additions/subtractions are made.

It's a classic AV move... He likes to build an excuse for failure into the series... Just incase. It's one of the reasons he's gone overboard repeating that Schneider was our MVP this season and we needed him. If it worked out, great. If not, blame the injury... Not the thought process.

I personally know Gilman. He may want to be a GM but he does not know enough about the game to be one. He can be a Asst. GM because he understands the business side of the game by signing players that he is asked to sign and understanding the cap (He was originally signed as a Capologist). However, he does not know how to put a team together without help from someone who understands the game this is why he needs to be a ASST. Gm at best. I do believe that it is time to get rid of Gillis and AV and start fresh.

I just don't get it. Luongo was healthy and playing good, Schneider is injured and sh!t the bed in the previous game. Decision: Start Schneider of course!

Luongo hates AV too! Luongo: cory was put in a tough spot being asked to play without much practice time after his groin injury.
