19 players signed with 12 million in cap space. Edlers new contract is 5 a year. Still leaves 7 but filpula has to be resigned too.
- manvanfan

edlers old was 3.something.... though.... so the difference isn't 5 million

I'd do that for sure. I don't expect Barkov/Monahan to make it to them at #11, maybe Monahan but I'd be a little surprised.

Didn't realize they drafted quite that late

This sounds like somebody who thinks the Thunder could beat Memphis. In other words a dreamer
- Bieksa#3

I wouldn't be so quick to write off the Thunder, if the Grizz had Rudy Gay then I'd definitely agree but Durant can still win this series if they play strong team defence.

Its sad how this year we could had a chance at the cup if we just had a guy that can actually coach
Waste of a season and players are aging

- RF_4eva

2 or 3 more years and players are aging I think media is overreacting and its catching. The Sedins are in their prime as well as many other players. It gets kind of silly when people talk of the team getting to old. Yes we need younger players but the veterans that are playing on the top 2 lines NO add a couple of youngsters to those 2 lines and watch this team take off. Look at the success of other teams keeping young players in the line up to challenge the vets. Yes we needed a lot but Fak. Get a coach in that will let the youngster play without fu@king with there confidence. Give them ice time let them make mistakes let the leaders of this team bring them along and have faith that they will help the young players succeed. If the young players succeed this whole team will succeed.

Rudy Iggy sucks. Well not really but he is overated. Prince in a very underated player. I said it 3 months ago. The finals will be Heat vs Spurs/Grizzlies. Memphis is a big team built to wear teams down in the playoffs.

Agreed. It's rebuilding teams, or teams not long after a rebuild where you see a lot of young guys.

In a natural turn over the young guys start making the team gradually as certain players leave and open up roster spots.

Canucks should have a few young guys on the starting roster next season, which will lower the average age.

I agree that he's overrated and overpaid as well, but IMO they were a better team with him then with Prince and Davis playing 5-10 mins a night. I had my OKC thunder winning it all finally, but not with Westbrook out. I agree that it will likely be MIA and the WCF will probably be MEM/SA.

Edit: Not sure what's so funny about OKC's defence, they were 10th in the league in points allowed, ahead of SA/BOS/ATL.

I dont like giving up good players for potential unless we get a proven player back
And philly is in a win now situation with a pretty decent draft pick this year

Ahhh, when you said bandwagon I though you were suggesting you weren't the only passenger.

We could get a better return than that for Edler.

I know where you are trying to go with it, and agree with your thinking. We just get into an issue where guys on our 4th line are not suited to be on the 4th line.

UFA's I would look at
Fistric (replace AHLberts)
Steckel for 4th line C, a guy who can take faceoffs and PK
Torres
Bickell
Bozak and Clarkson (will cost too much)

Most holes will have to be filled by trade, not alot of UFA's who would help us

- immature_male

Torres would be very good

I remember when nobody wanted him and Gillis got him on a bargain deal late in the free agency period, hell of a signing. This time around I think he'll be a hot commodity, will likely get 2 million per, maybe even 2.25 or 2.5 if things get crazy.

When they had Gay he wanted the ball to much. Now they can wear teams down inside with Z Bo and Gasol. If the grizz could have added a guy like RedRichard they would be amazing. Westbrook is vastly overated, bad attitude and not a great court boss. The Thunder are built like the old suns or earlier mavricks. Just not a playoff team.

Fisher is good just for the fact that when KD gets double teamed in clutch situations that both he and Martin can at least take the shot, but it sucks not having Westbrook and Hraden for that anymore. If the team was still in Seattle then they could have been able to afford Harden.

Torres should have never been let go. Shows how efficient this post-season "evaluation process" is. I'd keep Torres over Higgins 100 times out of 100.

I love how Reddi.ck is a banned word on this site. Disagree about the Thunder completely, I watch about 20-25 games a year plus all the playoffs and Westbrook's criticism is completely overblown, he's become a much better passer, teammate and leader since his first couple of years here. The Thunder have a better defence then you seem to think, Ibaka has improved this season and is a defensive force, Sefolosha is one of the best defensive perimeter plays in the league. Perkins is also solid defensively. Durant can take over a game and series. They just need to be better with rebounding against the Grizzlies and force Conley and Allen to take more shots instead of the big boys down low. When the Grizz had Gay, you at least had to respect one of their perimeter scorers and I think that will come back to bite them this year, it's too bad he didn't fit in better with that team but IMO they need a SG or SF that can score.

I'm well aware, and that's why my opinion is that they need a solid SG/SF scorer that can create his own shot to become a complete team.

You think Winnipeg would do that? I also like Burmistrov quite a bit, underrated player IMO.
