Hamhuis / Garrison
Ballard / Tanev
Trade return / Corrodo

Edler and Bieksa should be able to get us something, and IMO if you package one with Luo might help moving him.

At this point do you think Ballard has enough confidence to play in the top 4? He could probably sue AV for workplace harrasment. Or pull a disablity pension for post tramatic stress syndrome.

I think Ballard would thrive under a different coach. As would a few others.

I would do that. I would also see if Streit is going to resign, and if he isn't I would throw in Edler, try and get young prospect(s) like Brock Nelson or Reinhart.

Would like to see a new coach try 3 defense pairings in the playoffs, not 10. I would clean house of all the coaches.

I think like Luongo, Ballard is done with the entire organization regardless of who the coach is.

OH I couldn't agree more they are done with the fiasco that is AV. I think MG is done with AV. Did anyone listen to the press conference? How did it go?

Going to take the week to evaluate the team from the top, MG, all the way down to the players. MG also admitting that the NHL has changed and we don't need as much skill as we do toughness looking back at the last few SC winners. Changes will be coming. MG going to go to ownership with a plan, see if they are onboard or not. Luo will not be here next season.

u have to draft well no matter where u pick, and now keep your prospects or most of them in this salary cap world. van has had grabner, connauton, hodgson. u keep those guys u dont have to go out and overpay on the free agent market.

Connauton was a horrible pick.

Grabner and Hodgson were great picks (Grabner was a Nonis pick)—those were bad trades...

The Canucks late round picks have been excellent. They will likely have a number of them in the NHL lineup in varying capacities over the next few years.

I don't know if Aquillni would even approve that.

He wouldn't. He may be rich, but come on, that's a huge waste of money for anyone.

A co worker today said Canucks should go after Doug MacLean for GM . He would be sure a lot more colourful than this deadbeat running the club now.

NYI would be a really good team with Luongo(or any solid starting goalie). All their team statistics are very strong outside of goaltending. It kills their PK and they actually play well 5 on 5 but don't get the saves. Doubt Pitt would take on that contract.

Not sure about thrive, but I think he'd be a solid 4-5 guy.

That is what meant he would thrive at I have no illusions. I personally think he would be a great 3rd line forward but that is just me.

Here's a summary someone posted at HF for those that missed it and don't wanna watch the entire thing:

- Going to review every thorough evaluation on coach and starting with himself.
- Losing biggest disappointment.
- Strange series to evaluate.
- Thought it was too fairly even matched teams and didn't score enough goals.
- Thought Sharks PP was dominant
- Lockout played a factor into making changes, blames significant injuries on depth.
- Takes blame for not adding more pieces for AV
- Believes the landscape has changed from offensively powered, to a more gritty style of playoffs.
- Believes that there are a significant changes needed to be made on roster.
- Thinks the game has changed ever since Boston won the cup.
- Doesn't know if Schneider should have started 3 or 4 believes Schneider was our MVP in the season.
- AV made the call on Schneider, believes that Cory was put in a tough spot without much time to prepare. However, using last 3 years as example saying he's an elite goalie.
- Unlikely Luongo will be back right from MG's mouth
- Defending AV (****), plan will be brought towards ownership end of this week, if ownership changes it he'll accept it.
- Believes they need to get younger.
- Admits this season was terrible for the Canucks
- Hopes that skilled teams like CHI and DET will still be able to win
- Believes the Lockout affected Luongo deal, believes there will be a greater opportunity for their players (packaged deal???)
- Conscious of soft market on tickets.
- Some decisions on existing players will be extremely difficult.
- Not looking to ask any players who have a NTC to be moved.
- Draft Philosophy of taking a goalie and projection of drafted players stepping in 3 or 4 years down the road
- May need to stop trading picks since when we were chasing the cup.
- Believes picking up an AHL team will really helpful for development of younger players.
- Not sure if they're going to use buyouts or not yet.
- Sounds more and more like AV will be back....just because we go swept 4 games doesn't mean we are going to make
- Not sure about Mason Raymond being back
- Thought Jordan played well, evaluation will also be on him as well.
- Need to reinvent our identity.
- Needs to supplement our core group
- Cap does not reflect how much the Canucks spend (3 - 5% bump in season tickets.)
- Can you make the bold moves? We signed offered sheets, made trades every year, signing FA's etc etc. Been prepared to act on every bold moves but you do it with the understanding of every deal not working out.
- Says Media from other cities are what gives officials ideas of our team.
- Says Media from Vancouver it's up to them to report it. Not the team's.
- Schroeder may require surgery. Other players maybe fine by the end of today or tomorrow
- Has not talked to AV since being eliminated.
- Feels like he is a part of the failure, went through behind a lot of stuff behind the scenes. Most challenging year in his tenure here see.
- Doesn't believe they can get the AHL team here.

Fair enough, but keep i mind that he as once viewed as a 2-3 guy and was/is being paid like one but at this point his confidence has to be shot so I think he'll end up being a 4-5 for the next few years. I also thought he was decent at forward, but not sure if he's good enough to be a full time third liner. I'd rather have him as a 4-5 d-man if I were a GM. A smart GM will probably sign him this summer and get nice value.

For everyone that thinks that Canucks have not drafted well in the late rounds:

Burrows - Undrafted
Tanev - Undrafted
Bieksa - 151st overall
Hansen - 287 overall
Edler - 91st overall
Corrado - 150th overall

I know we don't have Datsyuk or Zetterburg, but cosidering the importance of those 6 guys to the team now and going forward it looks like we don't have the problems that we think we have in the later rounds of the draft.
