Facking Nabby Isles looked good early on
- Vukota

He played like shat, but we didn't score so it doesn't matter if he let up 4 or 1. Just need to get back to what we have been doing over the last few games. The barn will be rockin on Saturday and I can see us having a strong game. Lets get this back to Pitt.

They may have to play the must-win Game 6 without Frans Nielsen, one of their top forwards. Nielsen left last night's Game 5 with what the team termed a lower body injury and did not return.

Nielsen was walking around outside the Islanders dressing room after the game, hobbling a bit and clearly in some discomfort. His availability for Game 6 is up in the air.

From Staples' article he just tweeted a moment ago. Not good.

3 or 4 year contract at $4 million per would probably get it done...I would think playing for the Islanders might not be a bad thing now...I'm sure players have seen how the Coliseum is during the playoffs. Plus Brooklyn is around the corner. If Snow is going to sign free agents, "the wind is at his back" this summer...

I would do it for $4mill but it might be his last payday, and might look for longer term or more $$$$

anyone see Bickell's hit in Hawks/Wild game....

he needs to be an Islander nxt yr.....

- Ur Not Me

I heard he blew up Gilbert, wasn't watching. I'd like him on the team for sure. Hawks will probably re-sign him.

Nabby is still quite the character. Did you see him chewing his gum on the bench. Seems like a cool guy that is a little to relaxed at times.

According to the Hawks blogger Bickell was on the block...he seems to be playing well in the playoffs, so I would doubt they would move him...

Now's the time. Assets are starting to get logjammed in the system and giving up a first round pick this year won't be like moving a top 5 pick. I've been very against trading our first pick, until this year. It's still high enough to be valuable but it's not like we're gonna move it and miss out on Jones or Drouin.
- eichiefs9

I agree about assets and trading this yrs pick, but also depends on what assets

I expect that Saturday night we'll see nothing but the Islanders best...although I think attrition is starting to take its toll. Have a good night gents.

Hawks are close to the salary cap, unless they move some salary,
but don't think they will be able to resign him......

my dream isles line-up for nxt yr,

Moulson-JT-Jagr
Stalberg- ??- Horton
Bickell-Nelson-Nino
Martin-Cizikas-McDonald

obviously I left some guys out for trades, by upgrading 2nd line C, or better D-men, or even a G
plus I only went on the FA class, bc u cant speculate trades

Thought Minny would have given Chicago a bigger challenge.

True but that 2nd goal completely deflated them. I thought they out played the pens in the 1st. I really thought after one they could steal this game. Nabby has been hideous this series. Not having a decent backup really came back to bite them.

I did too, until their starting goaltender went down before the puck even dropped in game 1.

Yeah, that's a kick in the pants right off the bat. Although...it may have benefitted us

The Isles came on strong in the second half of the 1st but Pens we're better the first 10 minutes and maybe for 50 minutes of the game. The Isles didn't have a shot 7 minutes into the game.

I feel a lot better about the series of course but disturbed that I thought the game 1 and 5 effort should be every game. The Pens really stepped it up tonight but the last t I felt good game 2 followed. We will see I hope the SO by Vokoun gets in the Isles head.

Zero chance and he's a FA
- eichiefs9

I think he stays retired but we can toll his contract so he wouldn't be a FA

Can wait for 2 days of people debating (read: arguing) the possibility of starting Poulin in game 6.

4 free agent signings on your top 3 lines... Jagr with first line mins for the first time since what 07-08?? I like the guys you are looking to bring in, but a 42 year old Jagr is no dream for this first line.

Plus.. no KO, no Bailey, no Neilson? Those are your trade guys?

Suter and Parise better save alot of the cash they signed for.. because at the end of those contracts that's all they will have to show for signing in Minn.

the purpose of Jagr is that he will teach JT to become a better player, whether he gets 1st or 2nd line mins, or you flip him with Horton......

and yes, I would trade KO, Bales, Neilson for either D, 2nd line C, G, the way they are playing, there value is back up.....sorry I just don't think they will be better/turn the corner for nxt yr....

would like to have the kids play together in Bridgeport for 1 more yr except the one's I mentioned to make team

Jagr isnt much of a teacher, or leader for that matter...

Ballsy to take a playoff team & change out 4 of the top 6. Sounds like a rebuild.
