You're right, he's perfectly entitled to stand there. But if that's the case, he wasn't really part of the play to begin with. I always thought that when you're on the ice, you should be involved in the play, not standing still 100 feet away from the puck,I'm not saying Cooke or Neal were without fault. I'm just saying that Martin was the one who initiated the confrontation. That's all.
- jmatchett383

Agreed but at the moment it happened, both players were on the ice. I don't blame Martin for how he handled it. He was very close to drawing a penalty, which should have been called. No one has ever received 2 minutes for standing in place. It wasn't what happened while they were on the ice that should have drawn a penalty for either, it was what happened once Martin was grabbed and shoved into the bench that should of gotten a penalty. Three players are their mugging him, if nothing else you could call that a bench minor for roughing or even third man in.

There was nothing better than watching Fleury beat himself in the head repeatedly with his own stick on the bench after he got pulled. I was just imagining him saying to himself, "I'm so stupid, I'm so stupid, I'm so stupid"

Also, does anyone know the ruling on 3rd man into a fight at the expiration of a game?
I just checked and Malkin and (Hamonic???) were given fighting majors, and Kunitz jumped in. Does that carry anything? I know it's a game misconduct during regulation.

It's like the pot calling the kettle black. Every fan base does it. I've seen it on TV, almost every other sport, too. There are always gonna be bumholes.

They cheered Michael Irvin on a stretcher at the Vet.
They've unloaded, by the thousands, bottles onto the field in Boston, Cleveland, Toronto, etc.
They chanted "Buy a porsche, Hextall, buy a porsche" after Pelle LIndbergh died in a car accident at the Garden.
Every fan base is filled with jerkoffs...yes...even the Penguins fan base. Even our fan base.

- potvin05

Point is we dont go around calling other fans classless like penguins fans do...Just like their hypocrite owner bashing other teams for cheapshots when he has matt cooke on his team....give me a break they are all hypocritical pieces of poop...just saying.

The league would be creating a slipperly slope if they didn't suspend him for that. I am sure his defense will be that he thought it was an Islander, but he looked right at him, and crosschecked him.

What a game last night!!! IT was the most entertaining game I have ever seen. Fleury I don't know what he is doing out there. He is making RDP look like a Vezina trophy winner.

My only problem is after the game the Penguins being sore losers. Seeing both sides I don't understand it. MAlkin was holding his hand after he thought he was pummeling Hamonic but I think he was hitting his helmet.

All in all great game and cant wait for game 5. Right now Islanders are in the Penguins head big time

Oh and on a side note I might have been the only one who was actually happy when Amac went down. The Islanders seemed to play a lot better when he got hurt

They'll put him in the box to start the next game.

But the Pens would argue that they were trying to get into the bench and the pathway was obstructed. That type of play will never be called, especially in the playoffs. All players involved knew exactly what the other was doing. It's part of the gamesmanship of the playoffs.

So, in other words, every rival the Penguins have is classless...

Rags, Flyers, and now Isles that's it.
It is classless, that entire arena could clearly see him reach for his face, so you don't give me that crap. Its a classless move, by a classless fan base, and karma will come back and bite you guys.

I have been to 100s of games and never have I ever heard the fans at mellon or consol do anything but cheer when someone is seen to be ok after an injury.

Classless like generalizing the actions of a few to an entire fan base.

Incorrect. This was about 1/1000th as bad as the stuff that went on late in the Ottawa/Montreal Game 3.

One factor that I think folks are overlooking though is that Fleury has also made a lot of huge saves that Vokoun might not of. He had something like a .930 sv pct coming into the game, so while he's allowed some softies, he's also faced a ton of rubber and made some big saves in close. He's been very DP like in that sense (pre injury).
I do worry what a focused Vokoun will do to the series but still remain confident that we can win this thing as long as we keep our emotions and penalties in check.

Well you sure are awfully interested in jabbing with us for someone who doesn't consider us worthy of being a rival.
You're probably right to be worried.
