Vokoun/Fleury might not be as much of the issue here as Nabby needing to play better. Nabby is sporting a 4.55 GAA and an .846 save percentage in the four games so far. I know I'll get killed for this, but can Poulin do much worse?
- UIF

Nabby has not been good but in fairness to Nabby some of those goals were not his fault. How many pp goals have pitt scored? Like I said he has not been good but its not all on him. I'll take the vet over the unproven rookie every time. Just my two cents. With that said he has to steal us a game soon

Yeah...and I do realize that Pitt has a very gifted offense...guys who really know where to put the puck when they take shots. But the Isles have done a pretty decent job limiting their zone time and quality chances...gotta get goaltending that can bail them out a few times.

Also, we talk about Poulin's rebound control, but most of the saves Nabby's making...the puck's bouncing right out in front and there are crazy scrambles for the rebound. It's just been an adventure on every shot that comes his way...even the gimmes.

That said, I don't think I'd really go with Poulin either at the end of the day if the call was 100% mine to make, but I'm serious in saying I'm not really sure if his numbers would be any worse.

I don't think so. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if Poulin could become another in a long list of young goalies who found their game in the playoffs. That said, we know this team and there's no way Cappy would entertain the idea of Nabby sitting.

I was screaming at the TV after the third goal. The first goal was terrible, completely out of position playing the pass If he was playing close to the level he was during the last month we are up 3-1. He was good in the third hopefully he carries it into the next game

I certainly understand that from the standpoint of being safe, and I'm not disputing it for the sake of suggesting a change. I said to kencan before the series that it didn't matter who our backup was because as I saw it, we'd live and die by Nabby. Even if he gave up 8 goals, he'd most certainly be back for the next game. That said, if we look over the past few Stanley Cup Playoffs, there always seems to be a young goalie with no playoff experience who stood on his head to get them there...maybe it's a adrenaline thing.

No doubt though, if Nabby can't get back to playing like he did during the regular season, things will look bleak

He's drastically overchallenging his shooters. He's allowing an extra six inches on his glove side daring them to shoot there. Then on the Neal/Malkin goal, he's 10 feet out of his net challenging Malkin while knowing full well Neal is set for the one timer at the faceoff dot. Those aren't things a vet goalie should be doing in the playoffs.

Out of position and he's been real slow with his moving lateral. His reflexes seem a little slow? Doesn't recover so quick.

Nice...I'm now the flyers guy, I feel accepted.
And yes, we had a fairly short spirited discussion about it, as we saw it in different lights and then just agreed that we would disagree.

Then he made specific sexual advances towards me, and I blushed in appreciation.

OK. so you thought they were going to be in the playoffs #1 and ALSO thought we'd be giving the Pens a run for their money #2? I'll just get this out of the way now. LIAR! (put an exclamation point there for you, know how much you like them)

natural, id like to take time to thank god for giving me this talent, which i am humbled by and am so undeserving of, but will continue to share my dry, rude and sarcastic gift which you have bestowed upon me...

Ah that's what this is all about. When I said let it go it was due to the fact that it was talked about for hours upon hours before you got on the board. I'm sorry if it hurt your feelings. I would have said the same thing to anybody else. Wasn't a shot at you.
- Vukota

my feelings were hurt...very much so...im sorry

please set the standards and guidelines before every discussion so i know when time is up to stop discussing said topic.

thanks in advance for your attention to this matter.

It's post like this which make me want to cave your face in. I told you why I didn't want him in the lineup and gave you specific reasons why I didn't like him and you say this??
- Vukota

1:21..."That's the thing I'm not here to argue with you. You like him in the lineup and I don't. End of discussion as far as I'm concerned"

it was a great 11 minutes...
