Dee Karl: Isles Win Game 4 Earning a Game 6
It could have gone either way, it went the Isles way.

Still complaining over officiating? Damn you guys get another gift wrapped present from Marc Andre Freebie and still whine over the refs.

Little girls complain less.

Very true. The Isles made adjustments after game 1 that the Pens haven't been able to counter. Terrible goaltending doesn't help. I thought the Isles would be a test going in, they are even exceeding what I thought. If I cheered for any other team I would be pulling for you like everyone else.

If you do go on to eliminate us, when the anger subsides, I would pull for you. If the Isles lose the next 2 games 10-0 I will still be extremely impressed with their growth this season.

Everyone can complain about officiating, favoritism...whatever, the fact is this has been a very entertaining series and the Isles have proven they belong. It's frustrating to me because I saw this last year and it didn't end well. But none of that takes away from what NY is doing on the ice.

With all that said the Pens will get their poop together, they just have to.

The officiating has been fair to both sides, I think. When they miss calls, they miss them both ways. The series has been fantastic and entertaining to say the least. Gotta think Fleury is out the rest of the way provided Vokoun plays decently. I can't see the Pens going back to Fleury right now.

No matter how this ends up none of us could complain about this series minus the officiating of course. Highly entertaining

What's the complaint about the officiating? Has it been bad? At times, yes. It's been awful. Bit it's been bad for both teams. I'm really not going to get on officiating until bad calls start costing the isles games. I know isles fans think the call in game 3 on Strait in OT was BS, but he did grab with the free hand and that's the definition of holding.

I responded to your post referencing officiating, but I wasn't directing my response to you necessarily. Generally. There's been a lot of chatter about the calls in game 3 and I don't think the officiating has impacted outcomes of games.

What's the odds Morrow gets a call from Shanny for repeatedly slamming Hamonic's head into the ice with about 7 minutes left? Right in front of the linesman, too. What the (frank)? Not even a penalty.
- potvin05

lets not forget that hamonic was holding morrow stick underneath him......he wasnt 100 percent innocent. The refs let em play.....

The officiation will always need to be consistent. MAF is a mess right now. I would start Vokoun (sp?) next game. The Islanders have been the BETTER team.

I think everyone can agree that the officiating and goaltending have been far substandard this series for both teams.

I gotcha, thought you were directly replying to my post. It's been pretty bad both ways, I thought the Pens got a couple penalties that should have never been. I'd rather them just be consistent, if you're not going to call ANYTHING in the third then let them play in the first and second. IDK how any player can keep up with the officiating, it's constsntly subject to change.

The refs have a tough job.......i thought they made up for that soft call with the first two penalties against pens last night. They did a good job of letting them play i thought....

AMAC being out.......who takes on his minutes?

That's where you either let them play as you saw in last nights game or you make the call...consistently. No matter who makes the infraction, from Malkin to Crosby to JT and McDonald. You stay consistent. For the most part the call was a penalty. The timing was brutal. At the same time, all of us have seen (even if you don't agree) once Crosby gets touch he will flop and sell the call even more. It is what it is....at this point.

Definitely. For every softie Fleury has let in Nabokov has answered back with one of his own besides the third period last night where I thought he played pretty good, when it really mattered. Hopefully he carries that into the next game? Did anyone see the post game interview with Nabokov? He has become my favorite post game interview, Fischler and him going back and forth yesterday was classic

Overall, i'm not surprised about MAF, although they have touted him to second coming of Roy. But, i expect more from Nabby considering how long he has played.

Martinek plays a similar game to AMAC and he has less of a chance of being rattled. I like Hickey but I'd def go with Martinek.

The Isles have certainly got the bounces the past couple of games as well. The Hockey gods are looking down on them.

MAF's been in the league for 10 years (9 seasons) now, not like he's a rookie. But yeah, he gets put on a pedestal and gets a pass year after year.

WOW are you serious...it's an opinion shared around the league. Complaining...nope. far from it...read it in the right context.
