Orpik has told the media that he has been told to not comment on his status for tonight.

It seems both he and Neal will be back. This is good news. We need to jump on them early and silence the crowd quick. Better 5 on 5 play would be encouraging

Screw arguing it!!! The Pens got poop on in game 2 by officiating and it's the reason it wasn't 2-0 in the first place. If anything they returned the favor but it was clearly a penalty!!! However just not in the unwritten rule book that says it's the playoffs we let them play at a certain point..... Maybe the NHL should just call a complete game for now on. So tired of this league as it has always tried to even the game by catering to 3rd liners!!!
- lloyd095

They missed some terrible calls in game two in which Pittsburgh would have capitalized on. That said, it wasn't the reason we lost that game. Islander fans can female dog about the injustice in game three (whatever), but they were fine being on the other end in game two of the calls.

We need to play a whole game at the same level... If we slow the game down we will win. No disrespect but this Islander team shouldn't be outshooting us. To many turnovers.

Just keep shooting at Nabby's glove because every shot seems to go in.

How about EK's post about the Norris, saying Letang is a distant 3rd to Suter and Subban??!?!?

Looking for more hits. No normal person would say that, especially one that knows the game. I think of Ek, like I do Cloutier and Dee.

45% of the voters were trolls from New York, Philly, Montreal and other parts that know nothing about the game ... it's pretty obvious

Perhaps more accurately, 45% believe the refs favor Crosby and elite players. However, their type of play is what gains them the calls, IMO.lets Go pens!! let's do it!!

I think it's Suter's, personally. I'd have a hard time picking between Letang and Subban though.

Between those two, the even strength points decide it in Letang's favor for me.

Letang has 25 ES points / 13 PP points
Subban has 12 ES points / 26 PP points

I personally think it Suter as well. Picking between Letang and Subban, though, is pretty easy. Letang is better in every aspect of the position.

Letang should win the damn Norris, nevermind being a distant second.

Suter was great, and could easily deserve the award - but given the extra games played, Letang would be a runaway winner.

Let's compare PK and Letang:

Both had 38 points, Letang in 7 less games.

Letang had 13 on the powerplay, PK had 26. Meaning Letang scored a point twice as often as PK at even strength.

Letang had ten more blocked shots, 59 to PK's 49.

Letang had 6 less hits in 7 less games played, meaning he's just as physical if you value that sort of thing.

Letang had 8 less giveaways, and two more takeaways.

Letang was +16, PK was +12.

Letang averaged 25:38 minutes a game, PK averaged 23:14.

Bottom line is, if ANYONE out of those three is a pretender, it's (frank)ing Subban.

Most overrated defenseman in recent memory.

Except turtling and getting yourself tossed from a game so that Brenden Morrow doesn't come after you. At least when given the chance a couple of seasons ago, Letang manned up and fought Morrow (although still got his ass kicked lol)

Hope your boys take care of Montreal. Impressed with the new kid. He looked great in game three.

I'm rooting for Ottawa too... Although if we both win, then we face them and the whole Matt Cooke media circus for two weeks straight.

Letang should wear that as a badge of honor.

I like this site for the chance to talk to other fans, but the only person who's analysis I respect less is Mike Mildouche.

I think Ottawa would be the best matchup for us (if we make it to round 2), but I would LOVE the matt cooke media circus.

Ottawa-Pittsburgh would be a FUN series.

One week, Ottawa won't hold up for more than 5 games against a healthy Pitt

Just ignore it, its not a story anymore to anyone except the uncreative sports writers. (And Melnyk.)

And that little Pageau, what a beauty he is, scoring, making great plays, throws the body at 5"9", kills penalties, wins a high % of faceoffs....can't believe we got this guy in the fourth round.

Three first round picks and a second that year, and the next guy out of all of them after Zibanejad to make the team is the fourth-rounder!

Well, if he hang on, at least we won't hear Ottawa fans saying they wouldn't want a Crosby on their team.

I prefer the Ottawa match-up as opposed to a Toronto or Rags match-up.

Ottawa has solid to very good goaltending; a better defense than the Islanders, but they aren't as loaded offensively and aren't as quick.

The only question, does Pageau have sustaining ability meaning he will continue to develop after the play-offs as opposed to Regin, who I thought would be a star after his performance against us and he has busted.

I don't care how they're scored. You could also argue that Subban's the most dangerous PP point defenseman in the game. Also, Subban had 11 goals to Letang's 5 (again, in 7 more games).

But aside from stats, Subban is, in my opinion, a better skater and a harder hitter. But Letang is a better all-around defenseman. I'd probably slide to Letang, but I don't think it's cut-and dry either.

Any way you slice it, Letang's a top-3 defenseman (at least this year). I still think Weber's the best in the game and that Karlsson will lead defensemen in scoring next year. You can never count out Chara. But Letang should at least be in the running for the next 4-5 years minimum.

Yeah, the top 3 for the next several years to come will likely consist of a handful of guys (Suter, PK, Karlsson, Letang, Keith, Weber & Ekman-Larsson). I think Chara's Norris days are past him. He's looked bad at times this season.
