Let's put it this way: an NHL commercial has just begun, how optimistic are you they won't show a Flyers goal against? - BulliesPhan87

one of the worst displays of goaltending ever. MAF is in full Flyers Playoffs 2012 mode. - hammarby31
No doubt.
But I do think the Islanders have been underestimated a lot of people, including the Pens, themselves. |

Time for Vokoun. Their 2012 playoff exit is why they got him. It's happening again.
Were I making the call, Vokoun goes every game until he stumbles. |

No question...you know (just posted about it yesterday) that I feel the issues (the backchecking/support/gap etc,.) have been here for years (even when he had Prongs/Carle etc.)..I just think it's tough to finally hold his feet to the fire on it amidst such an abortion of a season. Looks like Homer and the org will give him a mulligan here...which I'm ok with. Hopefully, some things were learned through all of this that will prove valuable for next season and beyond. - exlund
I do base my issues with Laviolette on his whole tenure here, rather than just focus on the disaster of 2013.
He's done some very good things, and his work in keeping the team focused and handling injuries and everything else in 2010 was superb. But if was only a case of backchecking issues or gap issues, I'd be a lot easier on him. |

True, he's made some head scratchers over his tenure here (handling of goalies, deploying certain players in certain roles, despite poor play or vice versa etc.)...but also did some good. I was starting to think the team was tuning him out and he was past his expiration date, but I'm not sure...I'd say he's on probation of sorts for next season...I hope he learned from his mistakes. |

That's my hope, because if they decide to replace him halfway through the season, there's far fewer options than in the summer. They'll either have to choose an in-house guy or spend an asset to get somebody else's assistant |
