Gudas was one of the few bright spots. He seems to have a touch of Kasparitis to him with his open-ice hitting ability. Not a hulking behemoth, but doesn't need to be.

If nothing else, he gives us a great 5/6 D-man in the mold that we've lacked since Sarich and Pratt. While Kubina came back and filled that role for a season and a half, his speed had declined massively, and he was still prone to his "oops" moments that he's been known for since his first season.

Regardless, I know Stevie Y has a plan, and I'm prepared to be patient for another season to see if it bares fruit.
