You people crying about "diving" do realize there is a difference between 'drawing a penalty' and 'diving/embellishment', do you not?
I understand that for a lot of you mouth-breathers, the couch and a video game console controller are the closest you get to playing hockey, but for those of us that actually put on skates, we know and understand that it is our responsibility to utilize every option at our disposal on the ice to help our team win. If that means making sure the ref sees that you are being held to get a penalty, you do it. If that means jawing at the ref a bit after a non-call or a call against you, you do it. Sometimes that even means taking a 'good penalty' to stop an almost guaranteed scoring opportunity and allowing your team to take its chances on the PK.
Crosby, and pretty much everyone else in the NHL, is responsible for utilizing every edge they can get to make sure they achieve their ultimate goal, which is their team winning. If you can't understand this, then please, go watch some other dumb sport like the NBA or something... - Kineada
Oh I strapped on the skates but the difference between us is mine didn't have toe picks on them...
Nitpicking a bit with one line instead the overall point.
Yes, Roenick was a great goal scorer, but not exactly the most progressive point of view in the league.
Wonder what his critique of this guy would have been?

Probably that he dove. All players do, especially in the playoffs. Crosby does. Gretzky did. Obviously Roenick did. So yeah, he's probably say it was a dive. And if his team scored, he'd probably be very happy about it while outside observers wouldn't.
At any rate, falling when someone is trying to drag you down from behind is NOT a violation of NHL Rule 64.1 Diving / Embellishment. Now, if Crosby had fallen to the ice, flopped around like a fish, and wailed out a scream of agony (without having actually been injured), THEN he'd be guilty of violating the rule. Conversely, if he had launched himself forward into a belly slide on the ice...you know, diving...again, he be in violation of the rule.
Since none of these things happened, I'd say there was no call to be made against Crosby.

Truth is, this series is fun to watch for both sides. Whatever happens, I am proud of the team and very excited for the future. I really enjoy this matchup. Could be the start of a great rivalry.

I didn't say Crosby should have been called. Neither should have been called. There should be no penalties unless it is blatant in ot. Let them earn the win 5 on 5

I hope so. For years it's been Pens/Flyers/Rangers/Devils with the Isles as the little brother going, "Hey guys, me too, me too!" Hopefully they can stay and hang with the gang and make for a more competitive division. Hopefully the new alignment eliminates things like the Southeast Division.

Not that it matters to much but are you a Pens or Flyers fan?
