Please tell me you aren't putting Kunitz in a group with Carkner? Did you miss his contributions last night aside from that spear?

im taking the 2 scenarios that happened into consideration. thats it. stats dont change the dirty plays...do they?

hes talking about 3 games??!??! and really just 1 game being that both players scored all of their goals in yesterdays game...well thats stupid...certainly he cant mean JUST the 3 games of playoffs

and where does that connection come from anyone?!

- LetsGoIsles

Well, the current season is the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup playoff season, so it makes sense to assume that's what he's referring to. Over the course of the 3 games played in the current season, Kunitz has scored more goals than JT. I'm not saying it's relevant to anything else being discussed, but I really can't believe you didn't pick up on that.

youre such a homer!!! i can only imagine why you think thats the case....

Hey laugh all you want, you obviously have never played the game.

The jersey you wear is not as important as the game itself.

is it me or does it seem that the islanders probably have more power plays in this series then us? its called capitalizing on your chances...crosby isnt a diver, hes got great sportsmanship and works very hard, wouldnt dive, I would never believe it
- JLT168

Is this a joke, I'm done discussing penalties with you guys really never wanted to in the first place but this has to be a joke?

No but 1 player was of all star caliber this season and the other is a plug. We can argue for hours you are a 1-2 hockey team until tomorrow night we are 2-1 infractions were missed both ways we both probably screamed at our tv's several times.

what a flawed argument...the islanders could have 100 more powerplays but bottomline is if its a penalty then you gotta make the call; if it isnt a penalty, you cant make the call and most importantly be consistent.

what does quantity have to do with whats going on the ice?

Dirty on the ice and dirty off the ice are not the same thing, or it would happen all the time; and guess what it doesn't. That's for a reason.

Yeah, how did Milbury's post playing career work out...he never won a cup and wrecked the Islanders franchise for over a decade. Roenick never lifted a cup, but was great at trashing hotel rooms, calling fans idiots during the lockout, and threatening to pull for Canada when not picked for the Olympic team. In short, they are a couple of Ass Hats who get paid to fill the space with hot air. Nothing more.
- Emperor Filonius

Wrecked it did he? Maybe he was just trying to emulate the Penguins organization by being so horrible for such an extended period of time that the year after year of high 1st round draft picks finally paid off. Hell, the foundation he laid may even come back to haunt the Pens if the Isles can somehow manage to pull off the upset. Man, that would be sweet and a fitting tribute.

We all can agree that Roenick and Milbury are idiots, but Derek from the Pensblog has brought up an interesting point over the last 24 hours on twitter.

Here are his tweets cleaned up a little bit:

here is why the nbc comments made by milbury and roenick are so damning

if that was lebron james driving down the lane late in ot and getting fouled and winning the game at ft ine the studio would love it

nba celebrates that. but no, the NHL puts two hacks on NBC and then they tell a national audience the best player in their game is a diver

even if crosby dove why say that? now " the casual fan" thinks crosby is a diver. well done

The NHL has 4 to 5 times a year to get to a casual fan. Now they let Jeremy Roenick and some hack former GM make their game look like a joke

The NBC studio show isn’t a talk show. It’a to sell the game / and its players Milbury and Roenick bring it down.

You can’t call Ovechkin a loser and crosby a diver then have a commercial “ watch AO vs Crosby. “#confused

A couple other's chime in:
difference between ESPN and NBC. ESPN hypes and builds players. NBC tears them down

NBA employs former greats of the league. NHL employs former goons of the league.

I think it's really a legitimate point. The NHL should expect it's sole US broadcast partner to help sell the league, not spend their few minutes in front of national audiences tearing the marquee players down.

You people crying about "diving" do realize there is a difference between 'drawing a penalty' and 'diving/embellishment', do you not?

I understand that for a lot of you mouth-breathers, the couch and a video game console controller are the closest you get to playing hockey, but for those of us that actually put on skates, we know and understand that it is our responsibility to utilize every option at our disposal on the ice to help our team win. If that means making sure the ref sees that you are being held to get a penalty, you do it. If that means jawing at the ref a bit after a non-call or a call against you, you do it. Sometimes that even means taking a 'good penalty' to stop an almost guaranteed scoring opportunity and allowing your team to take its chances on the PK.

Crosby, and pretty much everyone else in the NHL, is responsible for utilizing every edge they can get to make sure they achieve their ultimate goal, which is their team winning. If you can't understand this, then please, go watch some other dumb sport like the NBA or something...

I love the Pens yeah with out a doubt, the only thing I do not understand is how you could possibly compare plays on the ice with slashing someone from the bench.

i dont disagree and im here for some fun loving discussion...but for someone to say that what carkners little stick jab into cookes chin (which was over the boards) is worse than jumping off the ice and getting involved in a fight is ridiculous!!!! you seem pretty objective.... was carkners jab/kunitzs spear THAT much different? are either suspend-able offenses?
