Those goals are funny... if Crosby or Malkin scores that goal to tie it up, all of the Pens fans would be talking for days about what an incredible snipe it was. But yesterday, I saw several Pens fans bashing Fleury for giving it up. - rival22
No, that was a nice snipe lol. Not only did he pick the far side, but that shot was a rocket. Fleury started reacting after the red light was going off. Eaton needed to challenge him a little more |

Yeah, how did Milbury's post playing career work out...he never won a cup and wrecked the Islanders franchise for over a decade. Roenick never lifted a cup, but was great at trashing hotel rooms, calling fans idiots during the lockout, and threatening to pull for Canada when not picked for the Olympic team. In short, they are a couple of Ass Hats who get paid to fill the space with hot air. Nothing more. - Emperor Filonius
Just don't say that around Milbury unless you shoes are on really tightly. |

How? Without backchecking support from forwards he has no option but to respect Tavares' skill and speed. That is why blue line turnovers are so damning, the forwards arent in a position to angle the opposing player towards the boards where the defensemen can step up accordingly. |

There has to be consistent calls. There was a Spear and Slash a minute before the Crosby penalty. |

LOL... assault... but at least our guy does it on the ice while Carkner tries to remove Cooke's eye from the bench.
And you are the poster in the Isles board asking if you'd rather get a stick in the eye or the nuts...... I'll personally take the nuts considering I'd be wearing a cup but don't hate on Kunitz cause he's got more goals than JT. - Yonk1216
he was clearly hit in the chin...
yes, id still take a shot to the chin than the nuts; i dont see how him wearing a cup makes it less of a spear.
and not only do i not get the "hate on kunitz causes hes got more goals than JT" connection it also is statistically incorrect...JT had 28 goals...kunitz had 22... |

No, Carkner definitely grabbed him by the back of the helmet and was trying to dig Cooke's eye out of the socket. 27 games would be a lenient sentence. - jmatchett383
Cooke does some sneaky shat on the ice. I witnessed first hand last night. But he changed |

Its only legal if a Penguin does it! - mighty13duck
It's funny because if you would watch more than the pens/isles series, the refing has been like this everywhere. Here's an idea: watch a few games tonight and see. |

is it me or does it seem that the islanders probably have more power plays in this series then us? its called capitalizing on your chances...crosby isnt a diver, hes got great sportsmanship and works very hard, wouldnt dive, I would never believe it |

What about the even up cooke got for a slash that never occured? come on man there are a million infractions that weren't called it's never going to change. If it were JT instead of Crosby you'd be saying the same poop we are. |

That was a bad sequence too... Eaton just got pasted and I don't think ever got back up ice to where he wanted before the Pens coughed the puck up at the blue line. |

I guess both accidental assaults. Difference Carkner is a moron who got caught and was penalized - dbell646
fixed...
lets not pretend like they both arent morons...id be willing to say being that the spear was right in front of the ref, that he "got caught" just wasnt called for it...subtle but very important difference... |

NOW you're just playing stupid. Very clear that he means in the playoffs, since all of the talk on here centers on this playoff series. But if we're gonna go back to before the series, I'd still say Kunitz has more, as he has 172 goals to Tavares' 112. |

Did you not see how far he was backing off? He tried poke checking the shot and missed the poke check because he was so far back. You need to challenge him a little more on that |

Want to lose a game really fast? Turn the puck over at either blue line on a consistent basis. Eventually the wrong guy is going to get the puck and make you pay. Okposo and Tavares did just that. |

Our 2nd best line last night featured Adams and Glass just because they got the puck deep and went after it. It's not rocket science. |

timing on gap control will never be what it should be on egregious offensive blue line turnovers. Furthermore like Rival stated, he was planted on his rear end thus eliminating any chance he had to get proper gap control.
You have to start the play with proper gap control on a player like Tavares who can change speeds and angles at will. Once Eaton didnt have it the only thing he could do is play it conservative in order to not allow a breakaway/even higher quality chance. |

hes talking about 3 games??!??! and really just 1 game being that both players scored all of their goals in yesterdays game...well thats stupid...certainly he cant mean JUST the 3 games of playoffs
and where does that connection come from anyone?! |

yup, and Giroux did it plenty last year as well. |
