I liked it, have a lot of Kings in my pool.

But how does Regehr not get called for pasting Reaves from behind?

- canadianpenfan

I just get 500 texts about Kings winning. Drives me nuts. Like they don't know I'm a Penguins fan. Still a very dangerous team, wouldn't mind if they got bounced before the finals...assuming the Pens start playing likewe know they can.

Friends can be Richards.

Penguins can't even look past the next game. I'll worry about the Kings if we get there. The Isles are giving us all we can handle right now.

Focus on one.

After watching the game a second time, we weren't as bad as I thought. We were a bit flat and a bit soff but I think more credit has to go to the Isles at even strength. The main mistakes I saw were the defense trying to pass through forecheckers because the forwards weren't giving enough support and some bad decisions at the offensive blue line. Letang had to try 3 times in a row before he finally got an outlet one-on-one at one point.

The first goal was a Despres gaff (though I think he should have received more than the 5 minutes of ice time he got), the second was Niskanen trying to pass through Grabner and a well timed line change. The shorty was some bad decision making on the PP by Morrow and the last goal was just a great player with some space making an awesome shot.

Nothing that can't be fixed with some focus and a good morning skate. We just need to flick some pucks in and get on the forecheck and get some support coming back out of the zone. The PP has been sick apart from one or two dumb passes, the PK has been surprisingly good and Nabokov is clearly not going to steal this one. Just need that offensive zone pressure.

And someone needs to spend a practice following Despres around and shooting pucks at his feet every time he is turning or backing up!

Said the same thing right as it happened. They replayed it a few times after too. Not once did they ask "Where was the call?"

Islander fans would probably love that series.

That series has been poorly officiated. Perron clipping Penner and the fact that he has blatantly run over Quick twice with no calls is confusing.

Well you can tell the Isles have their heads in the right place, they are talking about ugliest hockey players in the league....its a weird vibe.

Puck support on the break out has been a huge problem. For you out-of-towners, I've been hearing a lot of good things from the players about their poor neutral zone play and especially turnovers. I think we'll see a more disciplined team tonight.

Speaking of Nabby, am I the only one that notices all those juicy rebounds? Just get pucks on him and clean it up. In 3 games he's got a 4.77 GA with an .836 on 73 shots

And how is all the talk about benching MAF with his 2.55 and .923 on 104 shots

Every single person that claims this would be the first one to get a Crosby jersey if he actually went to their favorite team. And if you don't want the best player in the world on your team then it shows how truly foolish and blinded you are.As far as the penalty is concerned, a penalty in the first period should be a penalty in OT. When you throw your hands up in the air it's usually a dead giveaway that you did something illegal. The Islanders were fortunate to get in OT in the first place considering the Pens clanged two pucks off the post.
- acdc1206

No, it does'nt. It's that simple. Personal preference is just that, personal. I don't like Crosby, wouyld'nt want him. Shocker, i get it. If anyone was fortunate to get to OT it was the Pens which most of your fellow fans admit freely. You were grossly outplayed 5 on 5. Special teams was a whole other story obviously.

Why is it so shocking that someone would'nt want him? I'd gladly take Kunitz but I'm not a fan of Crosby.

Don't eat your crayons when you finish coloring.

They should be targeting Crosby. It's a no brainer. Get in his face and play a strong, legal game without taking a penalty. As we all know that's where the problem lies. It's tough to play Crosby physical without taking a penalty.

Sorta On/Off topic but one player that is starting to piss me off is Logan Couture.
His embellishment is beyond ridiculous... can't wait for the Sharks to get bounced again from the playoffs... second round I'm sure

Oh ya PK was also a real tough guy fighting Kyle Turris, maybe he should leave the little ones of the league alone.

- nelson911

Have felt this about Couture for the last year. He has mastered the embellishment well. He rides a close second to Jeff Skinner. I really hope the Sharks get bounced in the second round.

More importantly, what happens to Vancouver after it gets bounced in four? Head Coach gone? GM gone? Changes coming? Look at the roster. What do you deal to get better? The Sedin Twins? Take those two away, they have very very little. Kesler's value isn't high due to his fragility. The rest of the forwards on that team are third line types. Major problem in goal as well, especially if Schneider's nerves continue to challenge him.

Let me tell you something pal shocker as it may be to you I wouldn't want Crosby on my team. I don't like players like him. I don't give a shat I'd tell you if I'd want him on my team. I wouldn't be ashamed. I'd gladly take Kunitz on my team any day but for the most part I don't like your team. Just being honest. It's not because they are good it's because they have a sense of entitlement and to me they are a bunch of primadonnas that the NHL caters too. That show on HBO just furthered that opinion for me. The arrogance is ridiculous. Don't give me the , "that comes with being good" crap. How about a little humility instead of being an arrogant twit? Has nothing to do with the series. Believe me I think you guys have an incredible team and you have to respect that but that's where it ends for me. Just my opinion. I liked the Pens when you had Jagr, Mario, the samulesons, Francis. This team I just don't like. Any of them to the point I don't even want Inginla to win a cup! lol. To all of you guys on this thread most of you are pretty cool even though you like the Pens besides this dude I'm chatting with of course! lol. I'll do my best to stay off here bcs this obviously isn't working out! BTW, Crosby is still crying to the refs ,you just can't see his mouth moving or the tears coming down with his new helmet jk
- Cptmjl

And this is why I don't think you have one clue about the game of hockey and prefer being in mediocrity than competing for a Cup. That would be like me saying I wouldn't want JT on my team and I'd take some rag tag player like Boyes instead. Yep, I wouldn't want the best player on earth; a warrior; and a guy with tremendous heart and skill playing for me. Of course, I'd take Grabner off the Islanders over Tavares and its not close. Why? Because we already have two John Tavares types on our roster.

Someone really needs a reality check.

I think probably after 35 years of watching/playing(I'm older than 35)hockey I probably have an understanding of the game. He is one of the best players in the world if not best. I don't like him. Big deal. Would'nt want him on my team. I could look you in the eye and say that. Why is that so hard for you to accept? I know of plenty of fans that feel the same way. Plenty of teams have won the cup without Crosby on their team, did'nt know that was a prerequisite for winning the cup? If you have Crosby you win? What happened last year and the year before?

Because it's a dumb statement, and we know if he were an Islander you'd be running around with his jersey on your back.

Why don't you save this non-sense for your own blog where somebody might believe you? We've been watching this guy make fools out of bums like Strait for a long time now and I'll let you in on a little secret.....It doesn't suck. Oh... and he's just as amazing at dealing with public/kids etc... So there's that.

I'll say it again, he's the most driven, competitive athlete to ever wear a Pittsburgh jersey in any sport. The exact trait you'd think New Yorkers (of all people) would love.

Q:You have just been offered the best player alive in the world today what are you going to do next???

A: Umm I think ill pass, he complains to much; o and he thinks he deserves to win.

Sadly 13 seconds after this conversation took place this poor boy was tragically stoned with hockey pucks.

You have no understanding of the game or don't exactly want your team to thrive if you don't want him. If you had someone like Crosby and while Tavares is very good - HE AIN'T NO CROSBY, you wouldn't be in the lottery each year, or being the eighth seed in the East. It's quite simple. You don't like him, I get it. However, he is the most talented; best and guy who plays the hardest of anyone every night.

That comment is just as dumb as a Colorado fan saying they wouldn't want John Tavares.

The answer to that question is a more closely guarded secret than the existence of aliens at Area 51 and who really killed Kennedy.

Seriously, the Pens have been very tight lipped about it. Check back here after the morning skate and there will probably be an update.

this is the key to the series, in the beginning of the season the isles were one of the top teams on the PK...im not sure if its the isles PK is being exposed or if the pens PP is that good or it could be both...but if the pens continue scoring on the PP at the pace they are on, this series will be over quickly...

however, if the isles figure out a way to stop the pens pp, the pens may be in trouble as the isles - i believe- have dominated 5 on 5 play over games 2 and 3...

You know something? If someone said they did'nt want JT I'd be fine with it. Why do you have such a hard time understanding that? Honestly, I'd take JT over Crosby. Is he better? No, of course not. I don't like Crosby, what's the problem with that? I'm sitting here with three other hockey fans at work echoing the same thing. As far as us being a lottery team and being the eighth seed I think you know as well as your team does now times are a changing. Was'nt that long ago for you, remember? With that said this debate is stupid though i see your point and what you're getting at. I get it, he's incredible. Still don't want him. Leave it at that.
