Just heard the Islander radio guy saying the Isle are basically emulating what the flyers did last year (not his exact words but it was his sentiment). Intercepting that long first pass and killing us in transition. Sometimes the only Pens skaters in the frame are the two D.....no forward in sight.

The thing I don't understand is the Pens corrected this after that crazy Montreal game. They essentially flipped a switch and played a much more responsible game. Now...here we are again. Very frustrating.

They didn't do that much in game 1 though--looking for that stretch pass, that is. The forwards came back into the zone and the outlet passes were shorter. Now, it looks exactly like last year--except only one team, thankfully, is 50% on the PP. The forwards can't get back...don't come back...whatever, so Niskanen tries to make the usually safe play up the boards like he did yesterday but he's forced to make a 50ft pass that gets picked off..race the other direction...two opposing forwards coming with speed and it's in the net before any Pens forward is in the picture. (that play is terrible all around but emblematic of the issues)

The only "orginal programming" for Isles fans is you sitting on the couch watching other teams play hockey in May. Don't worry...you'll be there soon enough

I can see the weekend didn't cure your love/overuse of exclamation points.

Have you looked into Ritalin, perhaps?

Says the guy who was most likely crying about the penalty being called. I always love when people whine and cry about Crosby being a whiner and a cryer.

Don't feed the troll. They aren't adding anything to the discussion, why are you encouraging them?

Pens need to make serious 5 on 5 adjustments. Forwards need to back check hard, make hits and steal pucks, make the simple plays in the D zone, forecheck, get takeaways and then worry about the offensive zone. Enough of this stretch pass, everyone tries to be Crosby breaking through the neutral zone crap.

They hit it once with Kunitz for a breakaway, but its a very low % play.

For everyone that says, let the players decide, not the refs, I have a serious question for you. You want them to let them play right? By doing this, does it not bring your skill players down to the same level as your 3rd line guys? I mean, if you allow clutching, grabbing and holding of skill players to go on, is that letting players decide it? If the Pens in OT are allowed to just hold onto JT and not let him going, would you not want a penalty for it? Don't you want your skill guy to be free to make the plays everyone knows he can make? I know, the Pens against Red Wings, all we heard was how Gill was holding everyone and they weren't calling it and it was unfair to the high skill and faster players. If that was JT that got pulled down, would any of the Islanders fans be in here saying worst call ever, JT is leagues golden boy...he dove..ect ect? I am all for letting them play, but when you pull someone down that is driving towards the net, it has to be called. I don't care if its OT or not, you are taking away a chance at a potential goal. I didn't see anyone on the ice complain, and you know when a player puts their hands up in the air, in the " I don't know what happen pose" they know, they are guilty.

Sure, but when it doesn't come then what do you do? JT has gotten his a$$ handed to him and kudos to the Pens for doing so. That's what you do to a player of his caliber in the playoffs, do everything you can to shut him down. Whats good for JT is good for Cindy.

The Islanders got two similar calls in game 2, his name was Deryk Engelland. Its no secrete as to who can and can't skate on the ice and the refs know this. I've watched the Sedins, Geno and Sid do this for years, you can call it diving, embellishing, whatever you want but at the end of the day if it gets a call for your team your ok with it. If its a Penalty in the 1st it should be a penalty in the 5th overtime. I will agree you hate to see special teams end a hard fought game, but it is what it is.

I agree. Special teams wins series and the Pens have had an excellent PP and IDK if it's their PK or our PP just being rancid but we can't score on the PP. If we could we would've won that game.

Obviously, having a serious discussion with you won't be possible. Hitting someone is one thing, did you see the Pens pulling him to the ice at all? Isles got a couple of borderline calls go their way in game two, I didn't see anyone saying wow...the refs handed them that game. We all get it, you hate Crosby...

I reply to your post with a perfectly sound comparison and this is your return so I will agree with you. I have no interest in having a "serious discussion" with you either. We all get it you love Crosby. Yes, I do hate him but that doesn't change the fact that he's a little whiney b!tch. He's pretty easy to hate. Most NHL fans probably hate him more than any other player in the league and it's not because they don't have him. Don't fool yourself.

The "Cindy" nickname doesn't play well hear Cpt.

Just sayin.

You are pretty decent for the most part, so don't change my opinion of you.

For someone that hates Crosby, I see you posting about him a lot...and I mean a lot. I mean, why come into a Pens thread? Whats the purpose of being here, if you don't want to talk hockey like a grownup, then why are you here? You didn't answer my question, you said hitting, I am not talking about hitting. I am talking about clutching, grabbing and holding..Obviously, using the word Cindy over and over when talking about Crosby shows the maturity level you have. I actually don't love Crosby, Staal was my fav player till he got traded. You hate him because he is good, and if you say you wouldn't want him on your team, then you are only lying to yourself. Tell, where has he cried or complained at all in this series?

Let me tell you something pal shocker as it may be to you I wouldn't want Crosby on my team. I don't like players like him. I don't give a shat I'd tell you if I'd want him on my team. I wouldn't be ashamed. I'd gladly take Kunitz on my team any day but for the most part I don't like your team. Just being honest. It's not because they are good it's because they have a sense of entitlement and to me they are a bunch of primadonnas that the NHL caters too. That show on HBO just furthered that opinion for me. The arrogance is ridiculous. Don't give me the , "that comes with being good" crap. How about a little humility instead of being an arrogant twit? Has nothing to do with the series. Believe me I think you guys have an incredible team and you have to respect that but that's where it ends for me. Just my opinion. I liked the Pens when you had Jagr, Mario, the samulesons, Francis. This team I just don't like. Any of them to the point I don't even want Inginla to win a cup! lol. To all of you guys on this thread most of you are pretty cool even though you like the Pens besides this dude I'm chatting with of course! lol. I'll do my best to stay off here bcs this obviously isn't working out! BTW, Crosby is still crying to the refs ,you just can't see his mouth moving or the tears coming down with his new helmet jk

I just want the Pens to come out and play proper hockey tomorrow, win or lose. I'd rather this series go seven and have four 2 - 1 games than have us win 6 - 5 over the next two.

We have to change the bad habits right the f now or we won't make it out of the second round.
