They are tougher than last year and they will continue to do so, it looks like Marc wants to build a team like that. What they are still missing is a big banging body who can score and play on your top 2 lines. They also need to get bigger at the back end, Tinordi is the start of that.

and that's why he extended DD for 4 years

Ha! Agreed. What a bunch of softies. We must keep in mind that last year we finished last, and were a horrible team. Rome wasn't built in a day, and Habs won't be fixed in 1 Shortened NHL season. We must manage our expectations.

Hey, at least were not the Leafs.

- habs_mike_27

Leafs have only lost ONE game in 9 years in the playoffs, no other NHL team can say the same!

Yes. He could be a decent player but his linemates have to make up for his lack of physicality, if they don't this is what happens especially in the playoffs.

Horrible effort by the Habs last night, they gotta keep their emotions in check!

1. Diaz .. If you cannot play defence and cannot contribute in the score-sheet then WTF are you playing for. I saw we give Drewiskie some playing time, at least he steps up, has size, can take a hit and knows enough to pass up the boards and not have his own teammates crippled at the blue line.

2. Desharnais .. No shots, no points, no play! check things out from the press box! We have Halpern a guy that can win more faceoffs, hits at least a bit, and shows up to play every night.

3. Give Budaj a chance, I think last night may have been the proverbial "TSN turning point" for Carey's confidence and I think its the kick in the ass that the team needs to see that they also have to play better.

4. Split up Subban and Markov, too much offensive mentality for one pairing, they need that stay home aspect to make what they are doing less risky.

Those are just the things I would do if I was looking at this team logically.

Generally good post, but I wonder sometimes if Engels is watching the games, or creating his own narrative in his head. The Sens in no way played great in game 2 - but "embarrassed" and "pounded" are meaningless hyperbole that in no way reflect the reality of game 2. Montreal was the better team in game 2 - no doubt about it. But I'm sorry, "embarrassed" and "pounded" describe only Montreal in game 3.

Offer me bacon and I'll be there in less than a minute

Either that or I go to the Safeway two blocks away and get my own
