I don't think I have ever put raymond on the 4th line.
I would love to see 2 possible line ups:
Sedins Burrows
Kes Roy Higgins
Raymond Schroeder Hansen
Wiese Lappy Kassian
Or
Sedins Kassian
Burrows Kesler Hansen
Higgins Roy Raymond
Wiese Lappy Sestito/ Archibald
The 1st one would be better.. but if AV insists on not having Schroeder in the line up then the 2nd one would make some sense.
I would also love to see Ballard in the line up.. and Alberts out! - kneughter
First of all you have Kes playing on the Left when he is a RHF.
Next Higgins who is a third liner playing Second and on his wrong side on the first roster.
Raymond and Schroeder who will probably not be playing on the Canucks next year
Kassian playing 4 th line (Typical AV style )
Not a true 4 th line
So again I don't think just anyone on here besides myself can coach this team to the cup as you stated.
Here is a little history for you. Canucks have won 2 of their last 13 playoff games.
In the last five years we have been outed 2 second round exits ,a SCF and now two firsts. That does not spell elite to me.
We scored 8 goals in 7 games against the Bruins
I am not going to look it up but maybe 7 goals in 5 games last year and 5 goals in 3 games this year(one of which was scored by a SJ player)
People have got to stop trying to recycle this same Sh!t of underachievers and bring in new blood that can put the puck in the net. |

Lineup #1 would have us ahead in the series. - DrChristianTroy
I completely agree.... or at the very least a (frank)ing win.
I strongly believe.. if AV wasn't coach.. this team would be winning. I was at game 2... and I called the goal before it happened. Sedins.. on the ice with a 1 goal lead with a minute to go. There is a reason the Sedins do not kill penalties.. they do not block shots.. they do not get in the lanes... and they do not know how to handle down low pressure when a team is putting everything on net. Throw a bone head play by Edler to try a force a shot throw a player instead of the wide open D partner when your team has just spent the whole OT pressuring.. and controlling the play.
And why AV didn't call a time out with about 2 minutes left in the 3rd after SJ spent the past 5 minutes dominating... is beyond me. |

I never put the players on the right or left wing.. I just put the line together.. so you can ignore that. Not sure how you don't call that a true 4th line?? Aside from the fact Kassian tends to hit glass instead of player more often than not.
And this is a line up that consists of 3 lines that have (at some point in the season) played together consistently.. and had success (chemistry) together for at least an extended period of time. (5 or more games)
The JS/MR combo single handily kept us in a respectable position when Kesler was gone for the first bit of the season.
They need to score more goals.. so why not roll 3 lines who have proven to do so... Ebbett is garbage.. we can all agree on that.
Ballard is also a guy who can skate well and move the puck up ice when confidence.. another puck mover who is desperately needed.
What would your line up be?? |

Blockbuster with the NYI, who have $30 million in cap space for next year and it looks like they're ready to compete now.
To NYI - Edler and Schneider
To Canucks - Brock Nelson 6'3" 210lbs first rounder 22 yrs old. Nino Niederreitter 6'2" 205lbs first rounder 21 yrs old. Matt Donovan 6' 205lbs fourth rounder 22 yrs old. - LeftCoaster
I hope Canucks go after Nino ,I like his game |

Other than how big they are, I don't really know anything about them. If I were the GM I would trade any player (that I could) to improve the team in order to win a cup. If moving Schneider is the best option I'm all in. I think, however, that Gillis has already burnt the bridge with Lu, so I'm not sure this particular deal would do the job. |

No one disagrees we are a very good regular season team. When Col or Minny play in NJ and then come play us and the Flames and Oilers on a three game swing we usually win those games and pad our points . Yippeee
Ballard is overrated and not worth Grabner and a 1 st that is almost Burkie like |

the bruins are the better team, but we can hang with them. IF we can win the series, this is how it will be - them outplaying us and us getting lucky. We are a good young team, no dreams of winning the cup this year just gaining experience, that's why in the long run boston is a better match than the habs for us. We may have beaten the habs, but boston will really push us and show us what it means to be a winner. Our window is just beginning, and above all else we are right there with boston physically - not many teams can say that, let alone the youngest team in the league. |

Just my opinion but if there's a coaching change and Schneider is traded for a good return, I believe Lu would wipe the slate clean with the assurance that he's the guy for the next four years (given his performance stays adequate). |

Well now you are talking about past moves... and hindsight is always 20/20.. I agree it was a dumb move. But at the time it was the right idea, and I still believe that under a new coach, he will flourish.
I'm not disagreeing that this team isn't completely built for the playoffs.. key guys become virtually invisible when the going gets tough.. but this team is also too talented to lose in the first round. They have enough skill to at least advance to the 2nd round and make some noise. In the playoffs, preparation and coaching become even more important.. without a proper game plan and setting these players up for the best possible chance of success it can get ugly quick. Which is exactly what we are seeing.
CS being put in last night was also ridiculous... Luongo wasn't the problem.. and CS has barely practiced over the past couple weeks. It was setting him up for failure.
Bottom line... AV is killing this team. |

take it as you will...as vicious a series as the leafs bruins is, and it is vicious, there is a respect. 2 teams playing their ass off and grinding. Not chicken sh*t hockey like the habs are playing...i'll take that any day. Leafs are tough, and it's not easy playing the big bad bruins but we are in this. If we take it to 6 or 7, as a franchise, we are fine

I think Lu's a good enough goalie to win four rounds, if the team in front can put up 2.5-3 goals per game. Maybe you're right, if AV is gone maybe Gillis can convince him its in his best interest. Lu and Lack for two years and then Lu and Canatta for two years. |

I say they give this core 1 more year under a new and better coach... and then work on re-tooling.
I'm okay with Bieksa gone... and Booth/Ballard/Lu pretty much have to go for cap reasons. But it will be an interesting off season. |

Hey look, I don't actually think Carlyle was whining. These guys have to sit at a table with a bunch of hungry media types trying to get a juicy story. He could sit up there and say yes or no, or give standard cliche answers, but he was candid and I appreciate that. In this particular case, AV was also candid. I didn't take his comments as whining, I took them matter-o-factly. |

Current coaching (and management to an extent) have made it clear that this is CS team.
IF a deal could be made.. and CS was moved. Assuming AV is gone (and possibly MG) I imagine Lu would be able to move past it. It wasn't the fans and organization as a whole who made the decision. Its a business.. and I'm sure he understands this world.. he agreed to a big contract. |

Back then Grabner Kesler and Raymond were the fastest line in hockey . I don't know why a GMbreaks that up. I know AV kept penalizing Grabner like he does with all rookies .
Lu was not the problem agreed . Our defensive breakdowns kill us. We have 7 minute brain farts ,make bad plays and let in mutliple goals too many times.
This team is not talented enough to go past the first round . Many of us called that before the playoffs started and missing two years in a row proves they are not . It is not a fluke . |
