It's nice to see Vancouvers culture of arrogence coming to an end.

Not enough ghetto

So since this team lolly-gagged it's way to the playoffs without two of their best players I'll take that into account when I read the numbers.

I'm still taking the Canucks in 5

canucks are in a lot of trouble coming up.

-lu has to be traded. any man with integrity would not stay after he was treated.
-AV MUST be fired. our team has not changed to adapt to the play, just like in boston.
-sedins are passing their twilight and are realistically a 2nd line. they are way to predictable, they are great for regular season when they aren't analyzed, but as soon as playoffs begin, the other team can read them like a book.
-too many European forwards.
-we essentially don't have a first line

Couture after game three "we need to be even better"

H. Sedin after game three "we were right there with them, it's those small mistakes that kill us"

Exact same thing Canucks were saying during last year's loss to LA.

It seems the Canucks attitude is "stay the course cause we are Flippin awesome" while the teams beating them are trying to be even better.

Can anyone explain the flip flopping between goalies. Luongo hasn't been bad, and with Schneider coming back from an injury and suddenly having to rescue the team it was a recipe for problems. AV needs to be smarter than that.

Gillis really screwed the pooch by not getting some value for Luongo before the season.
Bozak, Franson and a 2nd probably could have been had. Gillis didnt know when to fold em' and by the trade deadline Lou wasnt even worth a pair of 3rd's. Do you buyout Lou or keep him and trade Schneider to NJ/CGY/PHI?

Well I'm glad that's over (almost), there's no way they're coming back from a 3-0 deficit. Hopefully we see some big changes this summer, surely to God Mike Gillis can see it's badly needed.

Glad I picked Pavelski and Couture in the playoff pool

It's simple, success with Luongo is problematic. They either have to succeed with Schneider or don't succeed at all. What a wacky situation Gillis has put them in.

Considering Gillis' evaluation of Luongo's worth, I shudder to think of what he'd demand for Schneider. The guy is too arrogant to make a significant trade.
- Jeffmt

So true, I think it was a Sportsnet guy who said Vancouver would be looking for a superstar to deal Schneider. Someone like a Stamkos or a Giroux, so very likely never going to happen.

It's basically AV trying to stick to his guns and prove he was right when he yanked Luongo and made Schneider the starter. He thought Schneider was ready to play so he put his supposed #1 back in net, despite Luongo playing well in games 1 and 2 and Schneider coming off an 'injury.'

For entertainment value, it would be absolutely epic and hilarious if AV starts Luongo in game 4.

I will always remember Luongo walking out of rexall 12 minutes after the final game of the season cause AV is a complete idiot who let his goalie get embarrassed a couple days before the playoffs. Luongo has been dominant for many years, he backstopped Canada to gold in his own barn and has been one heck of a "pro" through this whole season and van management and fans still don't want him. Vancouver is a broken team and will not be fixed easily.

There was a good return for Lou in the summer from Toronto before the draft and Lou said no to the trade thinking Florida was banging on the door. NTC can come back to bite you. Not just term and money that "suck" about his contract.

Agreed. Really liked Lou's interview after the game "I'll be ready if called apon but this is Corey's team"

Classy stuff.

I'm not so sure it's the fans anymore as much as it is the organization. I've never seen a goalie shown so much disrespect. What AV did to Luongo in that Edmonton game wasn't just a scumbag move, it was also incredibly stupid. It's almost like he thought, even with his starting goalie still injured, there was no conceivable scenario where he'd have to play Luongo in playoffs. How can a coach at this level be so drastically unprepared and delusional?

What's all this talk about Lu for? The guy nixed a trade to Toronto last year and he's got 60 something million dollars to keep him happy. He's still a great goaltender and he'll be just fine. There's no crying in hockey!

That's a fair point. Luongo has to take a bit of the blame for still being in the situation he's in. He had his opportunity to leave but gambled on a better situation.

It wasn't quite on the same level as Patrick Roy/Mario Tremblay.....but it was pretty darn close. All that was missing was Luongo raising his hands in the air when he actually made a save.

I need everyone's help....I remember reading online that a certain Canucks blogger picked Vancouver to win in 5. I was just trying to remember who that was so I could get his thoughts on the series now.

Sorry Ian, I couldn't resist. I'm just poking a little fun at you.

I would tell all these players that we are moving towards a younger team and trade them all.

Ryan Kesler - would bring a great return!
Alex Edler - talented but no drive or passion.
Kevin Bieksa - would bring a decent return.
Janick Hansen - package him with one of the above.
Cory Schneider - would bring a very good return. (stick with Lu)

Get rid of:

Booth
Ballard
Weise

Let these players walk:

Raymond
Lapierre
Pinizzotto
Roy
Barker
Alberts
