Coddling our 5 mil dollar star Dman with a sophmore so he can play well is nuts. What happens if Tanev is injured in the playoffs ,do we play with the big Swedish void? If I am paying 5 mil for a Dman I want him showing the sophmore how to play not vise versa .

The Sedins cycle would work well on the second line and second PP unit. I am fed up with that laid back cycle between the two players.

Kesler IMO should be wearing the C and kicking asses and taking names ,including the Sedins (more so Daniel )

It's so ridiculous.

You figure that AVs line juggling is just to find chemistry at the beginning of the season, but the last few years it's persisted into the playoffs.

And even when there is some inkling of chemistry, the line/pair doesn't last for more than a game or two...

From what I've read and heard, he's considered to be a brilliant hockey mind so I wouldn't be against that at all as a bold, outside of the box hiring. He also comes from the Detroit system and style so he'd likely employ an offensive, puck possession style system.

Andrew AHLberts is -9 in his last 12 post season games. That's mind boggling for a guy who plays a limited 5 on 5 role.

Ballard was a -4 two years ago (-3 of which was in the game VS Boston where he was plucked out of the press box and thrown onto a shutdown pairing with Bieksa )... Last season he was -1 over 4 games (which is relatively good considering the way that series went).

John Shorthouse today on the 1040 said the Canucks have a great D on paper . Too bad the game is not played on paper .

Bieksa's comments make it seem even more likely that this will now end in a sweep. A nice break would be nice, maybe we'll have Havlat back for round 2. Just gotta hope the Sharks learned from 2 years ago and don't let them back in and end up limping into round 2 again.

Somebody, somewhere in BC go and tell your hockey team to stop whining in the media that the big bad Sharks are "cheaters" and tell them to start playing some hockey for crying out loud. It's embarrassing to the whole country watching them whine in every interview. just play the game.
