Agreed. Roy is decent but not worth a $4m contract. Garrison has been misused more often than I'd care to comment on. The fact that he, with his shot, wasn't even out there on a 4-on-3 is nuts.

Actually burke is very outspoken, so you know what he is thinking. He has called out several players, and doesn't stand for garbage like that. Burrows can play yes, and there are some pests that don't cross the line. Burrows is a complete joke, lapiere is worse. Prust, komarov, tucker are examples of pests who still play respectful. Lapiere and burrows are just embarassments. The worst part is they were so cocky like they had already won the cup and would win for the next 3 years, now they just look like d-bags. Again, i like the vancouver franchise, i dont' know how these tools are still in your lineup. Subban is another example, yelling at pacioretty? Complete joke. If you can't see the difference between a pest and a farce, i can't change your mind.

Burrows has toned his poop down, even though he still has his moments.

I think there's a few issues.

Edler has been getting the most TOI this season and hasn't deserved it. The coaches shouldn't be feeding top minutes a player who is struggling with consistency.

Without watching a lot of the Leafs this season, it appears he's doing a good job.

I did read an article form a TO reporter earlier in the year questioning some of his roster decisions (mainly about Kadri and some of the D) that basically said the Leafs were winning in spite of Carlyle, but I don't have the insight to agree of disagree.

The never-ending rebuild that started at this past trade deadline? I think you have use confused with Edmonton....give us a chance at least!

You do realize that just because you are of a certain opinion it doesn't mean the majority of other people share it, right?

Regardless, I doubt the Canucks or the fans care who hates them or not.

I think there's a few issues—a couple which you've already pointed out, included.

No real training camp and having to come back from an injury played a part.

But I think one of the real problems is that he's been horribly mis-coached this season.

-Failure to find/recognize a good partner for him. He's clearly looked the best with Tanev and Corrado this season, yet neither of those pairing stuck.

Also, when he was originally tried with Garrison, it was Edler switched to his off-side rather than Garrison—why the hell would a coach switch his newly re-signed big-ticket "potential" number 1 defenceman on his off-side? This would also give the opportunity to re-unite Hamhuis and Bieksa, which is a proven, solid pairing.

-Too much responsibility for a player who hasn't had a steady partner for the larger part of the year.

First two games Edler has averaged close to 28 and 29 minutes per game, which is quite a bit more than the next closest guy. It's too much for a struggling player.

That being said, Edler in a bad year has still led the D in a number of categories, and had some stretches of consistent play.

Just hope he can return to the player he was two and three years ago, because he was a complete D then.

The Ballard over Ehrhoff thing is ridiculous. The Ballard situation in general has turned into a complete farce.

Edit: Edler was also very good with a healthy Salo. First 35-40 games of last season Edler was playing the best hockey of his career. After Salo got hurt, he wasn't the same, and neither was Edler.

Meh, not really because Kadri and Grabovski have averaged about the same ice time despite a big difference in production. A lot of Leafs fans aren't huge fans of Kostka getting 20+ mins a night either. Every fanbase is always going to have issues with some of the coach's moves, even if(when) the Canucks bring in a new coach. Not defending AV though, he needs to go.

If the deals there for Cory you make it, in my opinion.

Lu is fine for another 4-5 years at least. Deal with the problem down the road.

I wouldn't mind that cap hit if the contract was a year or two shorter with a NTC, but as much as I love Burrows that contract might also come back to bit Gillis in the ass depending on how much higher the cap goes in 2-3 years. If the cap goes up quickly again and 4 million becomes the norm for second liners again the I won't mind it.

I don't think Scooby is correct.

Burrows's production is still good for 4.5, and that's not even close to all he brings to the table.
