If you go and look at his proposal, it was Schneider, Bieksa, and Burrows for Campbell and the 2nd overall.
So he wasn't proposing a straight up swap. - Fosco
I wouldn't make that trade, I always wish Bieksa and Burrows would just close their mouths and play hockey, but when they do....they are good players. Schneider is also a very valuable piece. those three for an overpaid Campbell and the 2nd pick...I wouldn't do it.
I'd lose Kesler (and his attitude) and put some lesser pieces together for that 2nd pick.
Somebody, somewhere in BC go and tell your hockey team to stop whining in the media that the big bad Sharks are "cheaters" and tell them to start playing some hockey for crying out loud. It's embarrassing to the whole country watching them whine in every interview. just play the game. - JLO961
You do realize Thornton, Couture, and Marleau also "whined" to the media? Why is it always just the Canucks that get heat for this when the team they play always does the same thing?
It's part of the series, always is, and always will be. Just not quite as entertaining as the MTL/OTT media circus.

I wouldn't do it either. But I doubt Talon would, either. Florida will/should keep their picks, and draft someone to play with Huberdeau.
Different situation - Calgary not only held on their vets, they also didn't make the playoffs for years. Canucks at least have (had?) some reason to to believe they had a competitive team so why would they sell off. - docmorgan
I'd rather have a team that poured their heart into a cup run (2004) then a team that on paper should have won it 3 years in a row.
If canucks extend the sedins for 3 more years, they are going to be in the same spot as the flames.
As much as I hate him, they should give Kesler the reigns. trade the sedins, they'll get a crazy return still.

Yes sir, the Sharks sure have said some terrible things about the Canucks:
"We felt Lou was playing great. We felt we were lucky not to be playing against him, to be honest with you," Thornton said.
"With this team, we just need to stay disciplined," Couture said Monday. "The way the series has gone, there's been a lot of penalties after whistles. A lot of head shots. Stuff like that. They have a lot of skilled players on their power play. You don't want to give them opportunities".
“I think Luongo’s been great the first two games,” Torres said. “He’s does a hell of a job blocking out all the garbage that’s said about him and he show up to play. Yeah, it feels good to get the winner but you know he’ll bounce back. He always does.”

I musta missed it, what did the Sharks players whine about?
All I have seen is passive responses to Canuck comments for the most part, if you have a link that would be cool.

I would bet that most Canuck fans (at least those old enough to remember) would rather have either of the previous two runner up teams that got there with blood, sweat and incredible goal tending, but these are cards we're dealt. I would say, however, that I like that they are competitive enough to have a shot every year, instead of watching from the side lines. The Sedins are great players, the best (total career) to ever wear an orca, and if they had a better supporting cast and a better coach, they would have a cup by now.
I would argue Kesler is the problem, not the solution.
after all that...i'm keeping edler in my fantasy pool, even canuck fans have to admit he had a bad year but is capable of much more, no? I'm keeping him after this poor year, but he's young, and strictly offensive, should I keep him??? he can't be worse than he was this year, 50 pts 2 years ago?

Blockbuster with the NYI, who have $30 million in cap space for next year and it looks like they're ready to compete now.
To NYI - Edler and Schneider
To Canucks - Brock Nelson 6'3" 210lbs first rounder 22 yrs old. Nino Niederreitter 6'2" 205lbs first rounder 21 yrs old. Matt Donovan 6' 205lbs fourth rounder 22 yrs old.
